What’s Your Favorite Finn Look?

Finn has had one of the most muted styles in the Star Wars franchise but what makes Finn’s style so fascinating is his clothes are literally evolving with his story. It’s actually rather cool. So, I couldn’t wait to talk a little more about his outfits for today’s segment in this series. Enjoy!

The Stormtrooper/Rebel

In The Force Awakens, Finn’s story is very simple. He was a stormtrooper who obtained a conscience, wanted to run to the farthest corner in the galaxy to get away from the First Order, but found himself caught in the fight between the Resistance and the First Order; and all of this is apparent in his clothing.

He’s shed the classic white armor the stormtroopers wear, hiding as a stormtrooper in plain sight with his black undergarments and stormtrooper boots. But he wears Poe’s jacket, a sign of the rebellious streak in him and his unwavering allegiance to his friends.

The Bacta Suit

While this isn’t exactly an outfit this bacta suit is rather impressive in its remarkable design made for laughs.

The Muted Rebel

Through much of The Last Jedi, we see Finn sporting the clothes of the Resistance but as you can see it’s very similar to Poe’s outfit and doesn’t have a Finn stamp of design. That’s because he was still very unclear as to where his allegiances lied in The Last Jedi. He was willing to help the Resistance but he was more interested in jetting to the other side of the galaxy than joining the cause. That would change.

Finn the First Order Officer

While infiltrating the First Order, Finn must wear the garb of an Imperial officer and he looks expectedly sharp in the perfectly tailored outfit. Honestly, he looks better in rebel clothing though. 😊

The Rebel Outfit minus Poe’s Jacket

Finn loses Poe’s jacket along the way but in a way that’s a good thing. It’s a sign, fashion-wise, that he’s becoming his own toward the end of The Last Jedi which is truly heartening.

The Resistance Hero

When we see Finn again in The Rise of Skywalker he is a new man. The blue pants add a pop of color to the brown colors of the Resistance vest and shirt. There’s no doubt about it anymore, he’s a big-deal Resistance hero and he looks great!

Of these looks which is your favorite? I think it’s kind of obvious which design I like the most. If you said The Rise of Skywalker look you are entirely correct. Finn’s outfit in The Rise of Skywalker is so simple yet so perfect. And after I noticed its similarity to Leia’s outfit in Return of the Jedi (see my post about it here) I love it even more.
