Looking Back: The Movies I’ve Seen of 2017; Ranked from Worst to Best

It’s been a year full of movies, good and bad, and while I haven’t seen all of the films this year I have seen a whole lot of them and so because it’s the last day of the year I figured I might as well rank them. So, here’s my list. Enjoy!

16. The Mummy

When I heard they were remaking The Mummy I was kind of skeptical at first but then I heard that Tom Cruise was playing the lead and I got excited. Tom Cruise has been making fantastic movies for decades. There was no way he could star in a film about some explorers who run into real life mummies and the movie end up becoming a fail. How terribly wrong I was. From the first trailer, I saw I knew this film wasn’t going to be as good as I had hoped but this movie wasn’t just boring or corny. It was poorly written, the plot was terrible, and it was painful watching Tom Cruise and Russel Crowe, who are both great actors, stoop down to the level of this horrid film.

I was hoping I was going to enjoy this movie but I ended up disliking nearly everything about it. This is undoubtedly the worst movie I’ve seen this year.

What’s Your Favorite ‘Avengers’ Movie?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has produced some fantastic movies in the last ten years but for the past six years, we’ve got three incredible Avengers movies that have brought together fascinating superheroes to fight incredible threats. Next year we’ll be getting the finale of The Avengers films and so, in anticipation of that awesome fact, this week’s segment of Who’s Your Favorite will involve, well, The Avengers. I hope you enjoy. 🙂

The Avengers

The Avengers could’ve been a flop, with a poor script, but with Joss Whedon’s direction and Kevin Feige’s oversight this film turned out to be a massive success. It brought together six amazing heroes in a fight to save Earth from Loki’s tyrannic dominion and it was simply awesome.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Three years later we were gifted with yet another Avengers film that provided our favorite heroes an even greater threat in Ultron and introduced some cool characters with Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Vision. This movie gave us an even deeper insight into Black Widow’s past and helped bring us even closer to the imminent threat of the one and only Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War

This film was being set up for ten years straight and when it finally arrived it was worth every year of waiting. Thanos’s determination to see his mission fulfilled was very strong indeed and he refused to be denied his destiny, proving to be quite the obstacle for The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Infinity War is much more than an adventure for pretty stones. It is a movie whose center is set with emotion, for every character in the film, hero or villain, and it is what has made this movie such a triumph.

Of course, there is the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame which is set to come out next April and that is an exciting prospect in itself. But, of these three films, which one is your favorite?

Mine is undoubtedly Avengers: Infinity War. It was everything I could’ve wanted and more.

I’m excited to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day.
