My Review of ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’

Okay, I have been waiting since December to see this movie. I didn’t get a chance to see at the movie theaters and so I have been patiently waiting for it to be available to rent digitally. Well, yesterday I went to see if it was available to rent and sure enough it was. My eyes widened, my breathing became an excited pant, and my fingers flew across the screen to rent the movie.

So, long story short, I watched it…twice (in less than 24 hours) and now I know what all the hype is all about. This movie is amazing!

First off, I just want to say, this animation is absolutely AMAZING! The pictures give this movie no justice whatsoever. I watched this film both times utterly stunned with what I was seeing. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. This movie is fashioned like you’re watching the most beautiful, most unique comic book you have ever read.

This is hands down the best origin story film I have ever watched because it’s somehow multiple origins stories at the same time as Miles Morales’ story and it’s just…amazing. Gosh, I’m still reeling by how good this movie is.

Which Character Has the Saddest Death in ‘Rogue One’?

For Star Wars fans we all know how the movies usually role. There may be some heartbreak every once in the blue moon but ultimately there’s a happy ending right? Rogue One changed that narrative big time.

Do you remember sitting in the movie theater for the first time in utter shock as every hero in the film was efficiently killed off in the last eighteen minutes of the movies? It was pretty remarkable. After K-2SO’s death I knew anything was possible (because a droid had never perished in the franchise before) and sure enough, well, you know the rest.

Rogue One is, in part, a devastating movie because these characters managed to worm their way into our hearts in the most delightful ways. The diverse cast of characters gave everyone someone to cheer for. For me, my favorite character was Cassian. I knew he was pretty much doomed but it was still heartbreaking when he died. In fact, I think I cried for a year straight whenever I watched this movie. So yeah, Rogue One may be one the best Star Wars film ever made but it’s also one of the saddest leading to this week’s question for Who’s Your Favorite (or in this case, Which is the Saddest?) Enjoy!
