A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Rocket

Sorry everyone for missing my post for this series yesterday. With the teaser for The Rise of Skywalker dropping my brain was totally occupied with everything Star Wars, so I completely forgot to drop the next set of posters. But, I’m back to the nitty-gritty so today Rocket is featured. Fun!

Rocket is totally one of the coolest characters in the MCU. First off, he’s a raccoon and yet somehow watching him run around with a giant gun in his tiny hands and talking cold smack about everybody doesn’t seem weird. In fact, it’s perfect. I liked Rocket as soon as he showed up in Guardians of the Galaxy and now, five years later, I can’t wait to see this next chapter of his story. So let’s get to his posters.

Guardians of the Galaxy

With his ferocious expression and giant gun in hand, it’s pretty clear that Rocket isn’t one to trifle with.

Still looking as ferocious as ever this poster is meant to be serious, and yet, the pink color for the poster is hilarious. Hah! Pink, and Rocket, together on a poster? Very, very funny indeed.

Avengers: Infinity War

The fact that Rocket and Groot share this poster shows tight their bond is, making Groot’s demise all the more impactful for Rocket. You see, he wants to pretend like he can handle anything and that he’s in total control of every situation but at the end of the day, without Groot at his side, Rocket is an emotional wreck. That’s what leads to this next poster.

Now, this is a huge difference from the other three posters. Rocket’s perpetual ferocity is completely eradicated, replaced by a legitimately sad face. Have you ever seen Rocket this sad? Well, actually we have. After Groot died in Guardians of the Galaxy he was very, very mournful. He even cried.

He was able to plant one of Groot’s twigs and bring him back to life via his son, Groot, but with him evaporating into dust, well, now the emotions are back and here to stay. I mean, look at him. His eyes are shimmering as if they’re filled with tears. So, so very sad.

Tomorrow I am very thrilled to share with you all the posters for Wasp. That should be very fun indeed.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day.
