A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Loki

Loki is a character that I couldn’t imagine having as extensive a story as he has had but to my great surprise he would go on to have one of the most complex stories in the MCU. From playing the role of the jealous brother/supervillain to the mischievous friend/hero Loki’s journey has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Now, with him coming to a shocking, grisly end by the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War it seems his story has ended…for now. But, with him getting a character poster for Endgame anything is possible.

So, to get ready for Avengers: Endgame, here’s a look at some of his character posters through the years.

Thor would be Loki’s debut and as is obvious from this poster he is very much the God of Mischief. With his iconic helmet and classic green, there’s no doubt who he is at first sight.

The Avengers

Loki returns with an armor upgrade. His helmet’s horns are longer, his armor is now of a gold color, and the green is so beautiful, giving him easily one of the most dazzling looks of any of the Marvel villains. On this poster, it is rather obvious that he is, indeed, a primary villain in the film due to his angry expression. Gone is the mischievousness, replaced instead by anger that had been buried deep down.

Thor: Ragnarok

Loki’s attire in Thor: Ragnarok has now changed significantly. He is clothed in armor provided by the Sakaarians but he still retains his iconic helmet that is immediately recognizable by the bendy horns. But his mischievousness has returned, albeit not in a villainous way. Now he is seen as an ally and his feud with his brother, Thor, has all but ended, giving Loki an incredible story arc with a somewhat happy ending.

Avengers: Endgame

What is the most interesting about this poster is the simple fact that Loki didn’t have a character poster for Avengers: Infinity War. Which makes sense. He was dead within the first five minutes of the film, which was terribly sad by the way. The fact that he was given a character poster for Endgame says a lot. We may be seeing more from the God of Mischief very soon. Exciting!

So, these are Loki’s posters. Tomorrow I will be highlighting two characters again; Star-Lord and Okoye. That should definitely be interesting.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fabulous day.
