Stephen King is an iconic author for his disturbing, super-scary novels that have been transformed into some of the most iconic horror films of all time, one of them being The Shining.
Spoiler-alert, I’m a scaredy-cat. As a child, I was traumatized by The Exorcist, Children in the Corn, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and the film that this post is dedicated to; The Shining. As a little girl, whenever I would hear the twins talking I would close my eyes, cover my ears with all of my might, and try to escape seeing and hearing The Shining in my presence. Only a few years ago did I finally muster the nerve to watch the film all the way through–I only covered my eyes once which was an achievement–and when the movie was finished I was proud to say I finally finished the movie.
Yesterday the bestselling Stephen King-novel-turned-sequel-to-The Shining, Doctor Sleep, revealed its first teaser trailer. Before you see the trailer here is the film’s synopsis.
Years following the events of “The Shining”, a now-adult Dan Torrence meets a young girl with similar powers as his and tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal.
