‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Gets an Official Trailer

Two years ago a surprise hit rivaled The Last Jedi at the box-office during the Christmas season and that surprise hit was Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. It starred Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black in a hilarious, super-fun and creative reboot on a Robin Williams 90s’ classic; Jumanji. My family and I missed seeing it at the movies but we rented it and were blown away by how entertaining the film ended up being.

Recently I gave the film a rewatch and once again I couldn’t stop smiling. The movie’s simple plotline could’ve easily been a disaster but the writers told a concise story that didn’t drag too long or get too corny, which seemed a miracle in itself. The movie was so good I didn’t think there needed to be a sequel but now that I’ve seen the first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level my doubts have been washed away. Check it out.

Dwayne, Kevin, Karen, and Jack are back at it again as the lovable game characters found in the game, Jumanji, only this time there’s a twist. The teenagers who went into certain bodies in the last film have been switched around and get this, they’ve got some elderly company for the ride this time too.

Newcomers Danny Devito is now Dwayne Johnson’s smoldering Dr. Bravestone. Danny Glover is now Kevin Hart’s overly nervous and rather diminutive Moose Finbar. The teenage football player is now Jack Black’s hilarious Professor Shelly Oberon. And I couldn’t tell if the nerd girl or the pretty blond girl was now Ruby Roundhouse but you get the point. It’s going to be hilarious!

I wasn’t sure how a sequel could be made fun to watch but with Danny Devito and Danny Glover to join the party this film is destined to be a second smash hit this Christmas. I also liked that while the trailer showed a lot of stuff to get one enthused to see the film it feels like there will be some surprises along the way and I’m pumped!

Seeing this trailer honestly made my day. 🙂

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
