Why ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Is Amazing: The Music

Music is integral to a movie’s success and memorability. Take Star Wars, the Rocky movies, or even Indiana JonesJawsJurassic Park, and Harry Potter. The GodfatherHaloween, and The Terminator. Music is the soul of a film. It can make or break a movie and it is only truly great movies that we remember instantly just through that film’s particular score.

The Lord of the Rings is an epic tale of heroes fighting against all odds to defeat a terrible evil. There are disturbing confrontations and grand battles. Forbidden romances and strong friendships. Triumphant moments and tear-inducing scenes. And all of this is enhanced by an incredible score.

Howard Shore won two Oscars for Best Original Score with The Fellowship of the Ring and The Return of the King for a good reason. Embuing the movies with a sense of unparalleled epicness the music helps build and destroy our emotions all in a single viewing.

From battle scenes teeming with grandeur from the intense singing of the choir to the more melodic tones designed to make you want to cry your eyes out, the music is a major factor in why these films are still some of the best ever made.

A New Stormtrooper Has Been Revealed for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’

The Rise of Skywalker is arriving in less than a year and LucasFilm is moving full speed ahead in beginning marketing for this imminently incredible Skywalker saga finale. It’s been rumored for months now that a new stormtrooper would be making its debut in this film and now that stormtrooper has finally arrived for us to look at in full detail.

Mind you, the photos surrounding this stormtrooper is through marketing for the film rather than in motion in the actual movie but it’s still a chance to see this new First Order soldier. EXCITING!

Before I show you what it looks like this is what it’s called: the Sith Trooper. Continue reading A New Stormtrooper Has Been Revealed for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’

My Ranking of the Marvel Movies Two Years Ago

Two years ago I wrote my first post highlighting my ranking of the Marvel movies. At the time there were only fourteen films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To think that a simple two years would add so many movies to the list is truly mind-boggling.

Here’s a look back at how I ranked the films at that time. Enjoy!

I love the Hulk. He’s one of the strongest and most entertaining superheroes in Marvel. His standalone film, however, was not so great. There were a lot of corny moments and it wasn’t a well-written movie. On top of that, Edward Norton didn’t even look like he would turn into The Hulk. The villain was the best part of the movie because at least he was threatening. The fight between The Hulk and the villain at the end is, to a certain degree, entertaining but overall the movie is a C-. Continue reading My Ranking of the Marvel Movies Two Years Ago

Here’s a Fascinating Twist on ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Vanity Fair Covers

The end of May was a pretty exciting time for Star Wars fans as Vanity Fair released a tantalizing issue focusing on the highly-anticipated Skywalker saga finale. We got our first look at new characters featured in this upcoming Star Wars movie, new aliens and planets, and an idea of what to expect from the film.

My sister and I were clearly ecstatic about the issue but, as always, my sister takes her excitement and converts that joy into some truly fascinating art and that’s what she did these covers. Here they are.
