The Bad News Has Arrived; Spider-Man Is Officially Out of the MCU

Sony and Marvel Studios has officially fallen out. Why exactly, I don’t know, but the greatest Spider-Man to ever grace the big screen is officially out of the MCU and I am heartbroken.

Tom Holland was perfect and Spider-Man’s role in the franchise was even more perfect. Seeing Peter Parker interact with characters like Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel was something that I thought I would never see but am eternally grateful that I have seen.

As was evident through the marketing for Spider-Man: Far from Home it seemed that they were trying to set up Spider-Man as the new Iron Man but with Sony wanting to reclaim their hero for a crossover event with Spider-Man and Venom Peter Parker’s time in the MCU is finished.

I’m so, so sad. It’s like Spider-Man has died all over again.

Will I be one of those fans who will boycott the new Spider-Man film under Sony? No. But I am royally upset that these high executives would mess up something that was sooo perfect.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 7

Iron Man is the type of hero where either you love or you hate him. He’s always been egotistical, narcissistic, self-absorbed, pretty much a billionaire douchebag at times. And yet, he’s also one of the most heroic heroes ever brought to the big screen, making him not only memorable but entirely different than iconic heroes like Batman and Superman, or even Captain America for that matter.

Iron Man’s story has shaped the MCU and his conclusion in Endgame was not only perfectly established and executed but emotionally and impactfully powerful as well. There’s a reason I can’t stop crying whenever the end of Endgame arrives. His story, whether I knew it or not, has affected me deeply and knowing that it has reached its end is both heartbreaking and rewarding at the same time.

Today, on the final part of this series, I’m focusing on Iron Man’s incredible last leg in this fascinating journey. Enjoy! Continue reading “‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 7”

My Sister’s Opinion: The Difference Between Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Thanos is a stunningly complex character. That’s why Avengers: Infinity War was such a great film; because it explored his journey in a way where, by the end of the movie, he is the winner and The Avengers have been terribly defeated, some even turned to nothing but dust before our very eyes.

And the reason for Thanos’s domination is for one reason, which is evident once watching Endgame: he was 2018 Thanos. I call him Wise Thanos.

Wise Thanos hails from a time when he has been defeated by The Avengers in 2012. When his puppet Ronan betrayed him to claim the Power Stone…and who was immediately squashed by the Guardians of the Galaxy, who he quickly learned about. Wise Thanos has lost his greatest nuisance in Loki. Both his daughters, Gamora and Nebula, are gone.

One has betrayed him and is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy, showing her allegiances have changed drastically. And Nebula almost prevailed in ending his life.

This Wise Thanos is the one who, at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, says, “Fine, I’ll do it myself.”

“Myself” is the keyword in this instance. No longer was he allowing his Black Order and his daughters or Loki to gather the Infinity Stones. He took the initiative, finding each and every one of them, and taking them for his own despite the mighty heroes and forces that stood in his way. All those years of conquest and destruction were parlayed for the conclusion of his mission.

Then, you have 2014 Thanos, who I call Egotistic Thanos. Continue reading “My Sister’s Opinion: The Difference Between Thanos in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’”

Darth Maul’s Misgivings

It wasn’t but a few steps from her quarters when Top Lieutenant Nienye, clad in a black tunic, pants, and boots enhanced with leather across the bodice, shoulders, elbows, and knees as armor, approached her. Continue reading “QI’RA: Chapter Fourteen”
