2021 Is Going To Be an Amazing Year for Movies

2019 has been a fun year for movies but what’s been even greater have been all of the movie announcements for films coming in the next few years, mainly in the Disney department. Next year things are going to slightly slow down and give us a breather from the onslaught of blockbusters but 2021 is going to be absolutely incredible! Let me show you all of the outstanding things to look forward to in 2021.

Five Outstanding Disney+ Series

In Spring of 2021, we’ll get to see what happened to Loki after he used the Tesseract to escape capture when The Avengers went back in time. With this character finding redemption in Avengers: Infinity War the love for the God of Mischief has only grown and I can’t wait to see what mischief Loki can find himself in.

Cassian and K-2SO are getting a much-deserved Disney+ series which will arrive in 2021 and while a lot of information about the series hasn’t been given yet there’s one thing for sure, it’s going to be amazing.

Wanda and Vision are getting a strange but “epic” Disney+ series that will supposedly blow our minds. I’m very interested in seeing how this story will play out and how Vision factors into all of this.

When it was officially announced that Ewan McGregor would return for an Obi-Wan Kenobi series the Star Wars fandom practically exploded with joy. A live-action story featuring Obi-Wan’s time on Tatooine after the events of Revenge of the Sith has been desperately wanted for years and with the thought that we will get to see this series in our eyeballs in a couple of years is truly a dazzling thought.

Like Captain America, Clint Barton is ready to pass on the mantle of Hawkeye to a more capable person. In enters Kate Bishop who’s going to become the next Hawkeye and while the series isn’t as highly-anticipated as the Loki or WandaVision series it’s sure to be so much fun to watch.

And with Hailee Steinfeld rumored to play Kate Bishop, the series is definitely going to be a blast.

3 Marvel Movies

In February of 2021, Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings will debut a new hero that’ll only add another level of diversity to the increasingly diverse franchise. With a director and writers already penned to helm the film, Awkwafina starring in an undisclosed role, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, and Tony Chiu-Wai Leung playing The Mandarin, the movie is destined to become the next Black Panther phenomenon.

I’ve been waiting for a Doctor Strange sequel since I walked out of the theater after seeing Doctor Strange after the first time and now, five years after its release, we will get a much-needed sequel and I. Can’t. WAIT!!!!!

We didn’t know if Thor was going to have a fourth film but when it was officially announced I was definitely thrilled. But that was the only surprise. Not only would this movie focus on more storyline between Thor and Valkyrie but Natalie Portman is returning to star as Mighty Thor in this Thor sequel which should be fantastic.

The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is getting a live-action reboot with African-American actress Halle Bailey starring in the role as Ariel and while casting is still undergoing its process the film will surely arrive sometime in 2021.

Jurassic World 3

The finale of the Jurassic World trilogy is coming out in 2021 and it’s destined to be an interesting movie. With dinosaurs now inhabiting the United States, the terror and suspense will hopefully be raised to a ten and I’m excited to see what this next Jurassic World film can give us.

Mission: Impossible 7

The seventh Mission: Impossible movie is coming in 2021 and with Rebecca Fergusson already announcing her return to the franchise and Christopher McQuarrie still penned to write and direct the story this is destined to be just as fantastic, or even more thrilling, than Mission: Impossible-Fallout. This is another I-CAN’T-WAIT sequel that I’m very excited to see.

The Batman

Robert Pattinson, known for his role in the Twilight Saga has been cast as the new Batman in Matt Reeves’ live-action rendition of the character and while I’m still waiting to see who else will be cast in the film I’m hoping this movie turns out to be better than Batman vs. Superman.

The Suicide Squad

James Gunn is reimagining the Suicide Squad story and bringing out his own version of the film with The Suicide Squad. An extensive cast has been officially announced for the movie and while more news most likely won’t be delved into until next year it’s sure to be the next Guardians of the Galaxy-level superhero phenom to enjoy.

And last but not least, Avatar 2

Ten years ago, Avatar was a phenomenon, and it had every right to be. It was practically a cartoon but the effects were so well-developed that we followed these characters and actually believed they were real. With a fantastic new world, lovable characters, and plenty of basic but riveting drama mixed along with some legitimate humor, Avatar would go on to be James Cameron’s greatest success.

Now, twelve years after its release, James Cameron will reinvigorate our excitement for this franchise with Avatar 2 which is set to be released in December of 2021. Will it make as much money as Avatar did? Not likely. However, if it turns out to be better than its predecessor twelve years ago it’s destined to become one of my favorite James Cameron movies of all time.

There.  Fourteen things to look forward to in 2021. That’s going to be a busy year and I’m going to love every second!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.
