Who Is the Best Batman: Michael Keaton or Christian Bale?

It’s Batman Day and that means it’s time to revisit a constant debate between Batman fans, analyzing whether Michael Keaton or Christian Bale is the greater version of the caped crusader.

Before I had access to watching The Dark Knight Trilogy whenever I pleased thanks to Netflix and cable television I would watch Batman vs. Superman all of the time, meaning I had to look at Ben Affleck’s Batman time and time again. While he isn’t the worst Batman of all time his bulkiness is a bit offputting.

When I watched Batman Begins after not having seen it in a while it was nice watching a DC Comics movie that was actually epic. Christopher Nolan is already a fantastic movie maker and what he did to Batman was legendary (see what I did there?) He made Batman a complicated hero with a dark side. That’s something you don’t really see in the heroes throughout the Marvel movies. It made the films he created that much more complex and enjoyable. And at the head of these remarkable films is, of course, Christian Bale.

Christian Bale’s Batman was the first live-action Batman I had ever seen as a child and to a lot of people he is the greatest version of the dark knight but is that true? Is he really a better Batman than Michael Keaton’s version? Continue reading Who Is the Best Batman: Michael Keaton or Christian Bale?

‘The Dark Knight Lives’ Gets Its Final Poster!

For the past few weeks, I have been sharing with you posters for my upcoming fanfiction series, The Dark Knight Lives. Now, appropriately on Batman Day, the final poster has arrived featuring the one-and-only Batwoman. Check it out.

Batwoman.png

I cannot tell you how much I love this poster. Batwoman is a powerful character who rises from the ashes of Batman’s demise and protects Gotham in his wake. With the story taking place in the throes of winter, snow blankets this scene as Batman’s signal looks on from above.

What made me most excited about bringing this story to life is delving into this awesome new character, Batwoman, and bringing her to life in a post-Christopher Nolan-esque story. I absolutely can’t wait for you to read this story, which, like I said before, arrives next Wednesday on September 25.

And once again, thank you to my sister for creating all six of these fabulous posters. Without her, they definitely would not exist and I probably wouldn’t have created this story.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a tremendous day.

A Movie Ranking: Arnold Schwarzenegger

Because I’ve been so busy with my What’s Your Favorite Look? series for the last two weeks I completely forgot to share my movie ranking series this Thursday for a new actor whose several movies I’ve seen and have decided to rank.

Today, I’m returning to this new series and the actor I’m highlighting today is our favorite one-liner, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Enjoy!

8. Eraser

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Vanessa Williams in Eraser (1996)

This was better than I expected but it’s not my favorite Schwarzenegger movie.

7. Total Recall

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall (1990)

I saw Total Recall a couple of years ago and while I was riveted I found the film to be something I don’t want to watch again.

6. Conan the Barbarian

My father’s been telling me about Conan the Barbarian for years. When I finally watched it I was impressed…but slightly underwhelmed. At the time when it was made (1982) it was an impressive movie. Now, it’s old.

5. Predator

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator (1987)

After seeing ALIEN I wanted to see PredatorPredator isn’t anywhere near as good as ALIEN or ALIENS but it is entertaining.

4. Kindergarten Cop

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Kindergarten Cop (1990)

This is one of those movies that catches you by surprise. You’re going along with the story on a boring day and then suddenly, bam, the movie starts getting better and better until you’re crying by the end. That’s what happened the first time I watched the film and it’s why this always be one of my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movies.

3. The Terminator

Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator (1984)

Science-fiction at its finest. And yeah, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays an amazing robot.

2. Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)

You would think a sequel to The Terminator would be an absolute nightmare right? Wrong! James Cameron took this story to the next level in a way that most films can’t and Arnold Schwarzenegger returned as a hero, a delighting twist that took the movie to a whole other level.

Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “What could possibly be greater than Terminator 2: Judgment Day?” Well, I’ll show you.

1. Last Action Hero

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Last Action Hero (1993)

I remember when I saw Last Action Hero for the first time. I didn’t know what to expect but it wasn’t long before I was beaming with joy as I watched the film. Yes, it may have bombed at the box-office because it came out during the same week as Jurassic Park! for crying out loud. Yes, critics may have hated it. But I personally LOVE this movie.

It’s perfect from beginning to end, with a thrilling What If? storyline that has so many imaginatively creative moments.

Yeah, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and The Terminator are fundamentally better movies but hey, every time Last Action Hero is on I watch it because I love it that much. And it’s got Ian McKellen in it! How much better can you get?

What’s your favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.
