The Rise of Skywalker is drawing ever closer with each passing day and with a new trailer on the horizon, Entertainment Weekly has delivered a tease for the film to only bolster our excitement.
Here’s the Entertainment Weekly photo that came out this week.
It’s a photo of one of the newest characters to join the franchise, an old friend of Poe Dameron’s named Zorri Bliss. Apparently, the heroes will locate her on a new planet named Kijimi where she seems to hold a tidbit of information that they will need in their secret scavenger hunt.
What I’m garnering from this photo is its nostalgic Attack of the Clones vibe. Maybe it’s her helmet or maybe it’s the cinematography. Whatever the case, I’m liking this picture a lot.
Now, moving on to the Reylo situation. If you’re not familiar with the “Reylo” phenomenon it’s simply this. There’s a huge section of the Star Wars fanbase who really want to see Rey and Kylo Ren fall in love in this sequel trilogy. They want it so badly, in fact, that they created the Reylo movement and apparently this Reylo thing will be addressed in The Rise of Skywalker.
From Daisy Ridley herself during an interview with Entertainment Weekly she said, “It does not bother me, people writing theories. It’s really fun hearing them. Plus, because I know what’s sort of going to happen, I think it’ll be really interesting to see people’s reaction to [the final film]. Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing and some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t.”
In response to the potential romance found between the two Force-sensitive destiny-driven characters she says, “J.J. does deal with [it]. It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”
So there you have it, folks! That spark that was ignited between these characters in The Last Jedi via Force Skype will be addressed in The Rise of Skywalker. Now, Daisy isn’t confirming that they will find love in the end but their mixed feelings for one another will be confronted and I am very eager to see how this will shape the final installment in the Skywalker Saga.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a marvelous day. May the Force be with you, always.
