The days had been gloomy, filled with grey clouds and rain, casting dull darkness over Gotham that matched the city’s mood. But today, on this early morning on December 2, a sprinkle of light was falling down on the city.
The Penguin felt it was an omen. An omen that his role as Mayor would be looked upon as one of the bright spots in the history of Gotham. And he would bring hope to the city. Hope in the form of joy, money, opportunity, but that hope would be quashed by the true nature of the city’s elite. The corrupt would take over and The Penguin would be the illustrator of the city’s crucifixion. Continue reading The Dark Knight Lives (THIRTY-SIX)
The two chapters yesterday, Chapters 16 and 17, were very enjoyable. Today, it’s time to see where the next few chapters will take me on this thrilling journey. Enjoy!
Chapter 18 is a short deleted scene of sorts that showcases Poe’s annoyance with Holdo, the desperation of the dwindling Resistance, and a private moment he has by Leia’s side as he hopes she returns from her unconsciousness.
It’s an interesting chapter that once again reiterates his distrust in Holdo and why he eventually, understandably, blew up. Holdo was annoying in the sense that she led with such secrecy. Even though she was doing the right thing she kept her plans close to her chest and it caused more harm than good. It’s kind of a shame. Continue reading Revisiting The Last Jedi Novel: Part 7

I’ve been watching Star Wars since I was a child and just saw Halloween for the first time a few days ago. Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains of all time and Michael Meyers is also an antagonist that whether you know the film or not you know who Michael Meyers is. But there is another similarity between these mask-wearing villains that is both disturbing and brilliant at the same time and that is their heavy breathing.
Darth Vader can be detected as soon as you hear that iconic breathing that makes him the character we know to this day. That breathing is what made him frightening and what also made him stand out amidst his villain brethren but it seems that he’s not the only character that can be recognized by the heavy breaths.
Throughout Halloween, a lot of times the director, John Carpenter, would mess with the viewer by having us only hear but not see Michael Meyers. Like in this scene for example. You can’t see Michael Meyer’s face but you can hear him breathing very heavily in an unnerving fashion. And it’s this way throughout the rest of the movie as well.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a welcome surprise in 2017, delivering a hilarious reboot that pleased the masses. Even my mother, who isn’t a huge fan of goofy movies like this, absolutely LOVED it. Now, its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level is coming out in about a month and a half and the final trailer has arrived today. Here it is.
As expected, the trailer was a riot and clearly highlighted the very simple fact that this sequel is going to be yet another blast to watch. Last time we watched it we saw it at home but this time we’re determined to go watch it in the movie theaters and enjoy it with a crowd because it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Everything was going according to plan. Or, at least as close to plan as possible.
Han had acquired the unrefined coaxium. That was part of the plan. Everything else wasn’t.
Chewbacca had gone off on some unknown mission and L3-37 was causing an uprising. The mission wasn’t playing out like Qi’ra had envisioned but at least no one had died.
She turned to Tobias Beckett.
“Han’s got the coaxium. Let’s go,” she said.
He nodded. “Good idea.” Continue reading If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 18
