Scott Derickson Steps Away from ‘Doctor Strange 2’

Just when it seemed like all was love and roses over there under Marvel Studios and so much seemed to be crumbling under Kathleen Kennedy’s troubling direction at Lucasfilm, Scott Derickson has announced that he has walked away from directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness due to ‘creative differences’.

This is on the heels of an announcement that Kevin Feige made at a recent conference that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would not be treated as an MCU-style horror film after Scott Derickson announced at San Diego Comic-Con that the highly-anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange would, in fact, be treated as a horror movie.

Apparently, Marvel Studios wasn’t ready to do something that unique and creative and now Scott Derickson has parted ways from the MCU. Is this a sign that without Stan Lee’s unparalleled guidance the MCU could feature some stumbles in the road? We’ll see, won’t we?
