Have You Seen ’10 Cloverfield Lane’?

Okay, let me tell you a little about 10 Cloverfield Lane. A few days ago I was bored and I wanted to watch a good movie. There was nothing on tv, I didn’t want to revisit one of the films that I’ve watched before, I was determined to watch something I’ve never seen before. At first, my family and I were going to watch The Conjuring 2 but I’m too much of a scaredy-cat and so we didn’t get very far with that. And so instead we turned another movie on. It was 10 Cloverfield Lane.

At first, I was watching the movie a bit disinterested but it wasn’t long before I couldn’t tear my gaze from the screen because I had to see what was happening. The story follows a woman named Michelle who, after leaving her fianceé, gets in a terrible life-threatening accident and finds herself locked away in a stranger’s basement. I’ll leave the description of the movie there because this is a film you’ll have to discover yourself.

This movie shouldn’t have been called 10 Cloverfield Lane. It should have been more appropriately titled Plot Twist because this film would not stop surprising me at every turn. It kind of felt like a mystery film because I was trying to figure out what was going on but the movie kept managing to surprise me.

And the conclusion of this film is downright shocking. I mean, it is so unexpected that it’ll leave you utterly flabbergasted.

I’m giving this movie 98 out of a 100 and 4.8 out of 5 stars. This is practically a perfect movie but the ending is so upsetting (in a good way) that I took the score down just a bit. If you want to watch a riveting film then I suggest this one. It’s filled with suspense from beginning to end and I highly recommend it because it’s kind of amazing.

It’s rare to watch a movie that keeps you on your toes the entire time but this is definitely one of those films.

If you’ve seen 10 Cloverfield Lane then I’d love to hear your opinion on it because this movie was quite the doozy indeed.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.

Throwback Friday: Captain Jack Sparrow Is One of My Favorite Movie Characters of All Time

Captain. Jack. Sparrow. This character that has helmed five movies which have made a culmination of $4,524,000,000 (wait a minute! Let me pause right there. This franchise has made 4 and a half billion dollars?! No wonder Disney is trying to reboot this franchise.) is a major part of the reason why I love these movies so much.

I don’t watch the Pirates of the Caribbean films often but every so often I get the urge to dabble in the world of pirates and Krakens and ancient pirate myths brought to life and it’s so much fun. Just the other night I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and I honestly had a blast. It may not be the easiest film to follow at times but it is quite the adventure.

As I watched the film I couldn’t help but remember why I love Captain Jack Sparrow so much.

The Dark Knight Lives (FIFTY-FOUR)

Remembering. It was driving The Penguin to do great things, to be the best person that he could be. Remembering how he rose from the darkness of the sewers to become a crime lord titan, hidden away in the shadows and operating under the guise of a simple entity. An entity that now struck fear in the hearts of all who heard it.

And now, he could see that power he had gained on the verge of crumbling before his very eyes. With each day that passed Robin’s revelation of The Penguin’s true identity as Mayor came close to being unveiled. And if that happened, everything he had built, everything that he had sacrificed would go up in a puff of smoke. Continue reading The Dark Knight Lives (FIFTY-FOUR)
