The Marvel Cinematic Universe is packed to the brim with lovable moments but I have tasked myself with the difficult assignment of trying to pick my top 20 favorite scenes in the MCU. However, I’m breaking it into a four-day countdown dismantling all twenty scenes into four posts leading to my eventual final 5 favorite scenes. So, with no further delay, here we go!
20. Ronin’s Reveal
Endgame had a lot of surprises, namely one of them being Hawkeye’s updated and much cooler alias, Ronin, which he adopted after he lost all morality and turned into a crime-fighting killing machine following the loss of the family he loved. Even though this is the only scene when we get to see Clint Barton as Ronin in action I positively LOVE IT!
19. Forging Stormbreaker
Talk about an epic scene! I still remember the first time I watched this scene under the blaring speakers of an IMAX theater. To say I was positively blown away is an understatement. This scene is imbued with grand feeling due to the music mostly, thanks to Alan Silvestri’s EPIC score for Avengers: Infinity War. Plus, the sheer visuals of such a powerful moment helps bring the scene together.
18. Tony Stark’s Funeral
It can easily, and understandably, be stated that Tony Stark’s funeral at the end of Avengers: Endgame is a bit drawn out but Marvel Studios handled this scene with care and was able to take this incredibly sad scenario and highlight how far the MCU has come by highlighting all of the heroes that we have grown to love in one beautiful, tear-inducing moment. It’s a gorgeous homage to the entire franchise as a whole and a beautiful conclusion to an epic saga, the Infinity Saga.
17. The Peter Parker Reveal
Spider-Man: Far from Home is a fun movie with a bunch of fun moments but none of those moments may be as memorable as the ultimate shocker for a first post-credit scene; Spidey’s identity being revealed by Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle thanks to Mysterio’s cunning ways. It’s a jaw-dropping scene that has ultimately changed the game for everyone’s favorite neighborhood Spider-Man. Now that everyone knows who he is, how will this affect his story later down the road? I can’t wait to see!
16. Vision’s Birth
Before Age of Ultron, I knew NOTHING about Vision. Meeting this really cool new character is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the film for me and reminds me why I love this franchise so much. Plus, it was even more fitting that the man who actually voiced J.A.R.V.I.S all those years was able to play Vision as well. That’s pretty cool.
So, this was the first part of my top 20 countdown. Tomorrow, we’re counting down to my top ten favorite scenes in the MCU.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a magical day.
