The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

While Knives Out isn’t one of the best movies I’ve seen it was enjoyable and has a truly riveting screenplay that I have had the luxury of reading every now and then. After watching the movie and learning that there would be a sequel I began to think of the cast and who would make the ultimate ensemble for the next film. So, I decided to share with you my idea of a perfect cast for Knives Out 2. Enjoy.

Scarlet Johansson

Scarlett Johansson in The Black Dahlia (2006)

Scarlet Johansson has become a world-renown actress with her various roles on the big screen, namely her stepping into the limelight as Black Widow for the still-enduring span of ten years. I can imagine her playing a beautiful femme fatale that leaves you constantly wondering if she’s the culprit behind the murder.

Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem in The Roads Not Taken (2020)

Javier Bardem, nicknamed the “Scary Man” in my house after my family and I saw him in No Country for Old Men, would be a great addition to the cast because he could be the diversion character. You know, the character who you immediately assume is the murderer but it turns out to be someone else. 😉

Russel Crowe

Russell Crowe in The Mummy (2017)

Who wouldn’t want to work with Russell Crowe?! I mean, he’s amazing! I think his role in this film would be as that kind of shady suspect who you can’t immediately decipher whether they committed the crime or not.

Zendaya

Zendaya in Euphoria (2019)

Zendaya will play the cooperative young woman whose stake in the story is greater than most because she could’ve maybe committed her own crime in the past and doesn’t want anyone to know. That could add a level of darkness to her character that could add an interesting dynamic to the overall story.

Mahershala Ali

Mahershala Ali in Green Book (2018)

Mahershala Ali would be that sophisticated gentleman who reeks potential bad-guy qualities. Of course, he’s not the culprit but his shady aspects could make him one that drives viewers off of the scent for a while.

Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver in The Defenders (2017)

Sigourney Weaver would be the character who is ultimately annoyed by the investigation but is willing to cooperate with Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc. She would also be a bit shady, leaving Blanc shaking his head.

Margot Robbie

Aaron Lazar and Margot Robbie in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Cute but maybe a little eccentric, Margot Robbie would be that annoying, obnoxious witness who will probably turn up dead at some point in the film, just to add to the mystery of all things.

Viola Davis

Viola Davis in Widows (2018)

I see Viola Davis playing the role of a police chief or District Attorney in the city where the crime is committed.

Kelly Marie Tran

Elizabeth Olsen and Kelly Marie Tran in Sorry for Your Loss (2018)

After what happened to Kelly Marie Tran offscreen after The Last Jedi and seeing how her role as Rose was greatly reduced in The Rise of Skywalker, Kelly Marie Tran needs her redemption on the big screen. I would love it if she was the main character in the story so that Johnson can give her the story she deserves.

Gal Gadot

Gal Gadot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Rian Johnson managed to shock viewers by revealing Chris Evans, who is immediately assumed as the good guy due to his years as Captain America, as the true culprit of the case. Wouldn’t it be something if this time around it was the ever-gorgeous Gal Gadot (a.k.a Wonder Woman) who was the mastermind of this brand new crime?

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig in Knives Out (2019)

And of course, there is Daniel Craig who plays Benoit Blanc, the Southern detective who brings this story to life and ultimately garnered Rian Johnson the chance for a sequel. But, here’s the twist, what if he played two characters? Wouldn’t that be fun?

So, there’s my list. Who would you love to see in Knives Out 2?
