Captain America is one of the most heroic characters to ever be brought to the big screen but, like all great heroes, he does have flaws. What flaws you may ask? Well, there aren’t many, but his dogmatic view of the world can clash with others, leaving people feeling like he’s a bit of a stuck-up pretty boy.
Captain America: Civil War was the first time his views came into direct conflict with his fellow Avengers and it led to him becoming a fugitive/Secret Avenger. It was during this time that he became more hardened and unwilling to play by the rules but when the world needed him he didn’t waste time returning to the forefront to save the day. Unfortunately, his fracturing of The Avengers in Civil War led The Avengers to get defeated by Thanos, hence the Infinity Snap.
His redemptive arc in Endgame isn’t as blatant as Black Widow or Nebula’s but there’s still a common thread between most of these heroes that once again reiterates the brilliance behind the writing of Avengers: Endgame. So, on that note, let’s get to Captain America’s section of this series. Enjoy! Continue reading ‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 3
Oh, the end of Avengers: Endgame is an emotional wrecker. One of the best parts of the entire movie comes in the film’s final minutes as we are introduced to an elderly Steve Rogers who thus gives his shield to Sam Wilson for him to be Captain America.
It’s an impactful moment that’ll bring tears to the eyes and really sets up fans’ excitement for the upcoming Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but it leaves one to wonder, will we see Steve Rogers again in the series?
Rogers is now in the same role that Peggy had in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Steve is elderly, his wife has passed, and now he’s got nothing to do but watch his friends save the world without him.
I don’t see Sam or Bucky not going to see him again in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but, if Chris Evans’ contract is truly expired, does that mean that like in Captain America: Civil War, we’ll return to the story after Steve Rogers’ natural passing. Will there be a funeral that manages to unite Sam, Bucky, and Sharon Carter together as they mourn the passing of a very great friend? And how many tissues will I need for this scene? Sam Wilson a.k.a Falcon has been a fantastic character in the MCU but for the most part, like his co-star for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he’s been a sidekick to Captain America. Well, he’s no longer a sidekick and will finally step into the lead role as the new Captain America in this Disney+ series which is set to arrive sometime this Fall but it will arrive nonetheless.
And now, Hot Toys has released some merchandise paired with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, giving everyone the first definitive look at Wilson’s new outfit, and in short, I’m in love with it. Here it is.
The combination of red, white, and blue feels perfect for Falcon’s character, considering that the colors are a bit more muted while sticking to his original design. He’s got new shades too. Ooh, getting the chance to see Wilson wielding the shield as the world’s new Captain America sounds like a dream come true.
Gosh, I love the MCU! (I can’t wait to see the official trailer eventually.)
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.
