Oh my goodness. Wow! As I write this movie review, after having just finished yet another Christopher Nolan film, I find myself baffled and trying to discern what was real and what isn’t in the mesmerizing murder mystery that is Memento.
Guy Pearce plays the role of Leonard Shelby, a man with short-term memory loss who is trying to find his wife’s murderer. It sounds simple enough but Nolan manages to concoct a plot that twists and turns and intertwines upon itself all while delivering answer after answer until you’ve reached the conclusion and are left utterly stunned.
TENET literally movies the story, its characters, and the environment backwards at times but have you ever seen a screenplay that is written as such. Yeah, there’s the clue to Memento‘s entire premise.
I have been so blown away by Nolan’s movies and how he continues to find ways to elevate and reimagine movie genres with unconventional storytelling that leaves one reeling afterward.
I am a murder mystery nut and this, this was one of the best murder mysteries I have seen. It was absolute perfection from beginning to end boy was that ending the payoff I was hoping for. Just…wow!
I’m giving this movie 100 out 100 and 5 out 5 stars. It’s freaking perfect and if you haven’t seen it yet I implore you to give it a look. It’s that good.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.
