Could and Should Steve Rogers Make an Appearance in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’?

Oh, the end of Avengers: Endgame is an emotional wrecker. One of the best parts of the entire movie comes in the film’s final minutes as we are introduced to an elderly Steve Rogers who thus gives his shield to Sam Wilson for him to be Captain America.

It’s an impactful moment that’ll bring tears to the eyes and really sets up fans’ excitement for the upcoming Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but it leaves one to wonder, will we see Steve Rogers again in the series?

Rogers is now in the same role that Peggy had in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Steve is elderly, his wife has passed, and now he’s got nothing to do but watch his friends save the world without him.

I don’t see Sam or Bucky not going to see him again in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but, if Chris Evans’ contract is truly expired, does that mean that like in Captain America: Civil War, we’ll return to the story after Steve Rogers’ natural passing. Will there be a funeral that manages to unite Sam, Bucky, and Sharon Carter together as they mourn the passing of a very great friend? And how many tissues will I need for this scene?

Okay, now that we’re done with the COULD section of Steve Rogers returning in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier now we have to wonder if he SHOULD return? In my opinion, definitely! This is Steve Rogers we’re talking about. He took on the mantle of Captain America for years. I don’t see why someone so paramount to Bucky and Sam’s stories wouldn’t be in the show at some capacity, dead or alive.

All in all, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is going to be a great show. With six episodes deemed to be closer to an hour in length per episode, it’s like getting a five-six hour movie! Amazing. And Sebastian Stan has already confirmed that it will be like Captain America: The Winter Soldier in tone so…I’m pumped!

Would you like to see Steve Rogers have a small role in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
