My Review of ‘Soul’

Disney/Pixar did it again! They made another great movie. Soul just may be the smartest Pixar movie since Inside Out as it deals with the afterlife, our personal journeys, and just what makes life worth living.

Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey lead viewers on a spectacular adventure with some of the best and most creative animated moments I’ve seen from a Pixar movie. The characters were hilarious, there were some legitimate laugh-out-loud moments, but as is always important with Pixar’s movies, it hits the heart as well.

Soul is utter perfection from beginning to end. The story is very thought-provoking and it’s very likely adults will understand the story better than children will. I think Soul‘s only lost opportunity was the chance for a goofy, child-like character to connect with younger kids because there weren’t any characters like that in this movie but yeah, it was great.

It’s a definite must-watch, a perfect film for these troubled times with its resounding message at the end of the movie, and yeah…it made me cry pretty hard. In fact, I can’t think about it too hard as I write this review because then I’ll be crying again.

All in all, it’s a fantastic film. I’m giving 95 out of 100 and 4.5 out of 5 stars. If this movie doesn’t win Best Animated Feature I’m not going to be happy.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
