Movie studios have now struck another angle to get seats in butts and that is the sudden willingness to adapt beloved games into films. And after the success and impending sequel for Sonic the Hedgehog’s movies it was only a matter of time before we’d get a Mario film. The cast, however, was just announced last night and boy is it a star-studded ensemble. Check it out.
Chris Pratt is Mario
Yes, you’re hearing correctly. The man who brought Emmet from The Lego Movie to life is now lending his voice to Mario which is a bit confusing but could turn out to be kind of brilliant.
Anya Taylor-Joy is Peach
This makes sense. In fact, she could play a live-action Peach. That’s how perfect this casting is.
The Sequel Trilogy had its ups but it had a whole lot downs. The Force Awakens brought Star Wars back with flying colors. The Last Jedi divided the fandom in two. The Rise of Skywalker underwhelmed the fandom greatly and honestly, if it wasn’t for The Mandalorian, my faith in Star Wars would be dead.
Now…do you want to know what the best Star Wars content in the last decade has been? No, it’s not the material under Disney. It is the trailers for the Knights of the Old Republic PC game which tell a story so epic that I’ve watched it regularly for the last ten years.
It may be twenty-four minutes long but this compilation of trailers may just be the best thing you’ve seen all day. Check it out.
While watching these cinematic trailer masterpieces I found myself once again getting mad at Disney.
Why is Marvel Studios so successful? Because Kevin Feige realized he had a treasure trove of epic Marvel comics and storylines that he could adapt to the big screen.
Lucasfilm has a treasure trove of emotional, deep, profound storytelling in the Old Republic era that for some reason they’re afraid of tackling. Instead, they’ve created this High Republic era that doesn’t seem NEARLY as interesting as this stuff.
I mean, who doesn’t want to see twenty Jedi fighting twenty Sith on an IMAX screen? That sounds like the coolest thing ever!
What do you think? Do you wish LucasFilm would tackle the Old Republic era? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. May the Force be with you.
For the past couple of months, the buzz around Star Wars has been something else. First, there was The Mandalorian which grasped the hearts of millions with its incredible storytelling and fascinating new characters. And then, shortly thereafter, the highly-anticipated game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order arrived, sending Star Wars fans into even happier pandemonium. I heard the excited chatter and was thrilled to one day play the game.
Every couple of years in the market push for the newest sequel trilogy Star Wars film LucasFilm begins the celebration with the delightful and totally exciting Triple Force Friday push. It arrives in October and fans rush to stores like Target and Walmart and other stores to buy the latest Star Wars toys and merchandise.
To get us excited for this event LucasFilm is doing something different this year though. This Thursday at 11amPT/2pmET Youtube will Livestream an event featuring the cast of The Rise of Skywalker, Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano for The Mandalorian, and Cameron Monaghan for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Yeah, it’s a big deal.
During the event, we will see the brand new trailer for the highly-anticipated game Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and apparently there will be some other surprises. Who knows. Maybe we’ll get a theatrical poster for The Rise of Skywalker which would be FANTASTIC!
Oh man, The Rise of Skywalker is getting closer with every day and I am so excited.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day. May the Force be with you.
I’m a HUGE gamer. I’ve been one since I was a child. As a little girl, I would play Super Mario Bros, the fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Smash Bros, and MarioKart until I dropped. I got older and graduated to the XBOX where I’ve played Mortal Kombat X, Destiny and Destiny 2, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Assassins: Creed, Overwatch, etc. And then there are the Star Wars games.
On my Nintendo Wii, I had Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and I LOVED it!
The Force Unleashed is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and follows the story of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice, a man named Galen Marek, who is the son of a Jedi Darth Vader killed. Galen, at first Darth Vader’s lead assassin who hunted down and killed rogue Jedi, turned against his master and tried to set on his own path.
It’s a really interesting story that is SUPER fun to play. Leia makes a surprise cameo which is fun. The game also had a two-player duel option where you can face off against a friend and fight with the iconic characters of the game such as Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, etc. My sister and I would always play with Anakin and Obi-Wan Skywalker, hence recreating our own duel between them. 🙂
But after The Force Unleashed, I haven’t played any other Star Wars games except for the Lego Star Wars games and the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, making my excitement for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that much more special for me.
The Star Wars Celebration is taking place Live at the moment and a couple of hours ago they dropped a trailer and information on the new Star Wars game which will be released this November called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I was excited. As someone who’s played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed more times than I can count I’ll have you know Star Wars games can be very fun. They can also be very terrible too though.
Both Battlefront games I have not bought because Game Informer continued to give the games mediocre scores because they were kind of boring. Now EA’s trying to redeem themselves with a new game to play and after seeing the trailer I probably won’t be playing this game either. Here’s the official trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Okay, I love the trailers for Star Wars games. They are always ridiculously epic in some capacity. I mean, have you seen the trailers for The Old Republic games? If you haven’t just go check them out. They’re like miniature movies, they’re that good.
