The Ten Most Tear-Inducing Moments in the MCU

When you watch a superhero movie you don’t exactly prepare yourself for potential crying but the MCU has proven many times to have some pretty sentimental moments that has brought a tear or two…or three to my eye. So, let me share with you ten moments in the MCU that has managed to make me cry, or almost at least get teary. Enjoy!

10. Spider-Man Gets Dusted

Avengers: Infinity War was devastating and this was easily one of the most gutwrenching moments in the film. Watching Peter Parker freak about dying, apologize to Tony Stark, and then turn to dust was one of the hardest things to watch, leaving me feeling rather hollow inside the first time I watched the film. And yeah, I was trying hard to keep from crying my eyes out. Boy, this scene was brutal.

‘The Dark Knight’ Is Hands Down the Best Superhero Movie Ever Made

Have you ever seen a perfect movie? A movie so undeniably brilliant and spot on that the more you watch it the better it gets? A movie that’s so good that you kind of can’t believe it’s that incredible? The Dark Knight is that movie for me.

I first wrote this post last November after watching The Dark Knight for only the third time in my life and now, after seeing it again for my fourth viewing on this fine Sunday, I decided to revisit this post and add a little bit more of why I think The Dark Knight is such an amazing movie. So, on that note, enjoy!

I don’t watch The Dark Knight on a daily to weekly basis. But every so often I get the unshakable desire to see it. And so last night with that fervor upon me I decided to watch it. I got sleepy, couldn’t finish it last night, so I decided to finish it this morning and boy was I pleased…again.

For nearly two hours, I was sucked into the dark and demented world of Gotham where a man as horrifically twisted and brilliant as The Joker resides to wreak havoc on Gotham’s citizens for no reason other than pure amusement. And as the story slowly builds upon The Joker’s madness the movie gets better and better and better until one can only stare at the screen in appreciative awe.

The Dark Knight is unlike any other superhero movie that’s been created. In fact, can we even say it’s a superhero movie? Batman isn’t exactly a hero, as the movie made clear. And that’s the genius approach to this story among many other things.

Movie Review Flashback: What I Think About ‘The Lego Batman Movie’

Five years ago I watched The Lego Movie and I fell in love with the film instantly. It’s one of the few times I actually cried laughing while watching a movie in the movie theaters. When they announced Batman was getting his own Lego movie I was SO excited…and then I watched the film.

I’ll leave it at that. You’ll get a greater understanding of how I felt about the movie in this review I wrote back in February of 2017. I hope you enjoy. 🙂

The Lego Batman Movie

Will Arnett, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Adam Devine in The Lego Batman Movie (2017)

The Lego Movie was great because it was hilarious. I mean it was a very, very funny movie. From the comical song “Everything Is Awesome” to the Millennium Falcon showing up with Lando, C-3PO, and Chewbacca trying to find Naboo so they could go to a party. And yes, Batman was the funniest character in The Lego Movie with his grumpy personality and his “sweet” ninja moves. This is the thing though. While I watched The Lego Movie it never exactly felt like I was watching a children’s movie. Yes it was an animated movie and yes it was for children but even I, at the age of fifteen, could enjoy it. With The Lego Batman Movie, I couldn’t and let me explain why.

My Three Favorite Movie Credit Songs

There are those certain movies that you come across that are already pretty good but then you hear that original song made specifically for the film and it knocks you off your feet. There aren’t a lot of movie songs that I’m particularly fond of but there are three songs that I love so much I have them on my Spotify. So, on that note, here are my three favorite movie songs of all time (so far.)

3. “I See Fire” by Ed Sheeran

Oh my goodness, let me talk a little about this song. I’m not into pop music or pop stars, so I had no idea about Ed Sheeran. This was my introduction and I was blown away.

To this day, The Desolation of Smaug is still one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in the movie theaters. That film, in the incredible format of IMAX, was. In. CREDIBLE! I went to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and while it wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen I wasn’t overly thrilled. When I went to see The Desolation of Smaug I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was but boy was it amazing.

To walk out of that theater with “I See Fire” blaring in my ears was the icing on the cake. It’s definitely one of the best movie songs I’ve ever heard and now I can understand why so many people are Ed Sheeran fans. He can sing!
