Will The Attractions at ‘Star Wars’ Galaxy’s Edge Get Boring Over Time?

(This is a repost.)

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the newest obsession at Disneyland and Disney World, a literal Star Wars land that gives guests a chance to journey to a galaxy far, far away. You can savor otherworldly delights that transport you to different planets in the Star Wars universe or create your dream lightsaber. You can even garner your own customized droid and buy plenty of other Star Wars-related goodness.

But more importantly, you get a chance to board the Millennium Falcon and embark on one of the land’s attractions, Smuggler’s Run, where you can literally pilot the iconic craft. Or, you can walk a little down the way and find the Galaxy’s Edge second highly-anticipated attraction, Rise of the Resistance.

Both are exciting attractions that one day I am utterly thrilled to partake in myself but…in the case of these highly immersive attractions, could they ever get boring? Specifically, Rise of the Resistance.

Star Wars is an ever-changing franchise that expands and gets greater with every new imaginative person who wants to bring something new to the table. Star Tours is great because it can change over time, allowing hundreds of different variations of the iconic Disneyland and Disney World ride. Smuggler’s Run could change but Rise of the Resistance can not.

Ten years from now when The Rise of Skywalker becomes nothing more than an old memory we may want to forget (considering that many people’s reaction to the film was less than joyous) and the characters seem less exciting to see will this attraction still be enjoyable to ride or will it become a glorified monument of the past?

Let me share my own experience with this sort of situation.

Nearly a decade ago I visited Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and boy did my family and I have a great time. There were some attractions and areas I will never forget, namely the Harry Potter land and the Marvel-themed section of the park but there was an attraction we went on that felt less than thrilling.

E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Florida.

It was the E.T Adventure attraction, a ride inspired by the iconic Steven Spielberg film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. My family and I got on it in 2011 (it’s since been refurbished in 2017) and were utterly underwhelmed. In the 80s’ I’m sure it was great. In the early 2010s’, eh, not so much. I have never been so bored or uninterested in a ride in my life.

I’m simply hoping the rides for Galaxy’s Edge do not suffer this same horrible fate.

Have you been to Galaxy’s Edge and been on the rides? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. May the Force be with you.

A New Ice Cream Experience

Ice cream. I love ice cream! I like to think of myself as an ice cream connoisseur. Chocolate is my favorite go-to flavor. Cookies and cream is my favorite guilty pleasure flavor of all time. Whenever I get the chance to have ice cream I take it and enjoy the delicious iced sweet, flavored cream that makes me smile every time I eat it (unless it’s Neopolitan ice cream which I will skip every time.)

So, yesterday, while taking a brief trip to Chapel Hill, NC, the home of the utterly beautiful University of North Carolina (which is the college I am TOTALLY going to when I finally take my step in that direction), I was walking down Franklin Street with my mother and sister and low and behold we ran into an intriguing ice cream place called Ice & Lab.

Entering the ice cream shop, I expected it to be like every other ice cream place I’d ever been to but it wasn’t long before I realized it was immediately a different sort of place. Being the ice cream fan that I am, I picked the flavor (King Kong Island–it’s vanilla ice cream with banana and oreos…yum) and the guy made it.

This wasn’t your average ice cream shop because the ice cream is rolled. It’s a new trend that’s popping up all over the country to offer people new and exciting experiences with one of America’s favorite summertime treats; ice cream. Originating from Southeast Asia, rolled ice cream has become a countrywide phenomenon and, wanting to eventually go to a rolled ice cream-serving place, finding Ice & Lab was SO exciting!

We were able to watch the man make the rolled ice cream (which was fascinating, I was so fascinated in fact that I forgot to take a video or pictures of the exciting feat) and then we were given the ice cream to enjoy. Continue reading A New Ice Cream Experience

Epcot Is Going To Get a Little More Awesome

I’ve been to Disney World three times and with every visit, my family and I made sure to stop by Epcot. Epcot is our favorite park in Disney World for its incredible showcase area. There we like to walk around, eat all of the tasty food available at each different country, and buy fun souvenirs to keep as long as I live. But, to be honest, Epcot was getting old. As the other parks were getting fascinating expansions Epcot was staying the same, leaving it as the ugly duckling of Disney World. And then this weekend happened.

It was announced yesterday that Epcot would be getting a MAJOR reimagining with all sorts of new things to explore and enjoy. So, for all of you fellow Epcot fans, here are all of the new things we can look forward to in the next couple of the years.

A Whole New World

Epcot is now going to be split into four incredible neighborhoods that each have a specific purpose to the park. As always, I’m heading straight for the World Showcase where some new attractions await its guests. Continue reading Epcot Is Going To Get a Little More Awesome

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Is Going To Be Amazing!

If you may not have noticed a new expansion is coming to Disneyland and Disney World this coming year that focuses on, yeah, Star Wars. If you’ve ever wanted to somehow visit the Star Wars universe it is literally going to be possible in a few months and Disney, over the past week, has released so much information about the wonderful Galaxy’s Edge that I had to share it with you all. I’m not going to delve into all of the details to keep things a bit secret but I’m going to definitely share with you some of the things coming to a galaxy very near us that are going to be AWESOME! Enjoy. 🙂

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

One of the attractions coming to this fantastic expansion is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. It’s supposed to be one of the largest attractions, if not the largest attraction in Disneyland and Disney World that immerses you in a battle involving the First Order and the Resistance. Rey, Finn, Poe, and BB-8, played by the actual actors, will accompany you in the attraction (wow!) and you’re also supposed to come face to face with Kylo Ren. Scary.

While much detail hasn’t been given about the ride it’s obviously going to be absolutely incredible.

Throwback Friday: My Cleveland Extravaganza

It’s Friday and that means it’s time for another weekly segment of Throwback Friday. Today I wanted to delve into memory lane and reshare with you all my fantastic trip to Cleveland, Ohio last year. I hope you enjoy. 🙂

I’m here to talk about my wonderful trip to a new city that I loved visiting so much. I hope you enjoy.

Thursday Evening

I was enjoying a wonderful vacation in a brand new city that I was having an absolutely fantastic time visiting and one of my magnificent family members up there said one of the places we had to check out was a place called Happy Dog. Oh, my goodness, this place had one of the best hot dogs I have ever had in my entire life.

But I’ll get to how the actual hot dog tasted in a little bit. First I have to talk about how Happy Dog’s interior looked.

We went to the restaurant around 5:00pm and it was a lovely crisp Cleveland evening. We parked around the corner from the restaurant and when we went inside I absolutely loved the interior.
