Five years ago I watched The Lego Movie and I fell in love with the film instantly. It’s one of the few times I actually cried laughing while watching a movie in the movie theaters. When they announced Batman was getting his own Lego movie I was SO excited…and then I watched the film.
I’ll leave it at that. You’ll get a greater understanding of how I felt about the movie in this review I wrote back in February of 2017. I hope you enjoy. 🙂
The Lego Batman Movie
The Lego Movie was great because it was hilarious. I mean it was a very, very funny movie. From the comical song “Everything Is Awesome” to the Millennium Falcon showing up with Lando, C-3PO, and Chewbacca trying to find Naboo so they could go to a party. And yes, Batman was the funniest character in The Lego Movie with his grumpy personality and his “sweet” ninja moves. This is the thing though. While I watched The Lego Movie it never exactly felt like I was watching a children’s movie. Yes it was an animated movie and yes it was for children but even I, at the age of fifteen, could enjoy it. With The Lego Batman Movie, I couldn’t and let me explain why.

There are those certain movies that you come across that are already pretty good but then you hear that original song made specifically for the film and it knocks you off your feet. There aren’t a lot of movie songs that I’m particularly fond of but there are three songs that I love so much I have them on my Spotify. So, on that note, here are my three favorite movie songs of all time (so far.)
3. “I See Fire” by Ed Sheeran
Oh my goodness, let me talk a little about this song. I’m not into pop music or pop stars, so I had no idea about Ed Sheeran. This was my introduction and I was blown away.
To this day, The Desolation of Smaug is still one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in the movie theaters. That film, in the incredible format of IMAX, was. In. CREDIBLE! I went to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and while it wasn’t the worst movie I’ve ever seen I wasn’t overly thrilled. When I went to see The Desolation of Smaug I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was but boy was it amazing.
To walk out of that theater with “I See Fire” blaring in my ears was the icing on the cake. It’s definitely one of the best movie songs I’ve ever heard and now I can understand why so many people are Ed Sheeran fans. He can sing!

Today I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier and a certain scene reminded me of a post I wrote a couple of months ago. It was the scene when Steve Rogers goes to visit Peggy (this scene made me super emotional by the way.) As I watched it, trying to hold back tears, I decided then and there to revisit that certain post I wrote in March for this Throwback Friday post. Enjoy!
Since the trailer for Avengers: Endgame dropped I have watched the trailer at least ten times. And with each viewing, my analysis of it has changed. While most trailers hide secrets in the background of important shots it seems that this trailer is hiding Easter eggs in plain sight.
Such as the mention of time travel. Now you’re probably saying to yourself, “Time travel? Who said anything about time travel in the trailer?”
Well, no one actually uttered the words time travel in the trailer but it is heavily implied through Peggy’s monologue through the first half of the trailer.

I don’t usually write about Survivor but I have to talk about this week’s finale of Survivor: Edge of Extinction. Many were claiming this as one of the worst seasons of Survivor and while it wasn’t one of my favorites I did find it somewhat enjoyable. But that finale, whether you liked it or not, was undeniably epic.
One of my favorite things about Survivor is the continuing evolution of the game. Every season there’s a new twist to send its players, and the viewers, for a loop. This season’s major bombshell was that contestants were not immediately kicked out of the game after being voted out. Instead, they could make a choice to stay on a separate island for a chance to get back in the game.
It was an unprecedented plot twist that led to a thrilling conclusion in the season’s two-hour finale. But what made the finale so thrilling is the fact there was the Edge of Extinction island.
For all of you Survivor fans who have been following the season you’ll understand the rest of what I’m about to say but for those of you who don’t know much about the show, it may be a tad bit confusing. I just wanted to give you a heads up. 🙂
Okay, on that note, let’s get to why this season’s twist worked!
