‘The Greatest Showman’ Is Joy In a Bottle

Ever since this movie came out I’ve been hearing rave reviews about it. The song “This Is Me” was everywhere, making me not that enthusiastic about seeing the film but once it dropped on Disney+ and after seeing Hugh Jackman in Les Miserables I had to give it a look. Well, I got to say, it lived up to the hype.

The very beginning thrust me back in my seat, leaving me like, “Whoa, this is cool!” And then Hugh Jackman started singing and I was enchanted. Wow! The man can sing. I know I said that when I watched Les Miserables but hearing him singing songs that sound like pop songs I was even more impressed. I mean, I’m just blown away ’cause he’s Wolverine but wow, he’s multi-talented.

Movie Review Flashback: ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Is a Massive Disappointment

One of the movies I was most excited to see but ended up missing this year was Alita: Battle Angel. For a couple of years now I have been seeing the teaser trailers and they have all excited me to the point where this was one of those films I really, really wanted to see. And to hear that James Cameron, the man behind genius cinematic creations like the first two Terminator movies and Avatar, was helping bring this story to life I had to check it out. Unfortunately, the film turned out to be way lamer than I expected.

When thinking about a movie that compares to Alita: Battle Angel I immediately am drawn to Ready Player One. Steven Spielberg, like James Cameron, is a master filmmaker and this was an interesting science-fiction story adapted from a popular YA novel to bring to the big screen. Unlike Alita: Battle Angel though, Ready Player One wasn’t disappointing.

Like Alita: Battle Angel it follows the story of a young hero trying to make his way in a near-apocalyptic future to take down a great evil. There’s romance, there are fantastic action scenes designed to make you say “Wow”  when you see it in IMAX, and the characters are just lovable enough for you to get invested in the story.

To be honest, the only reason why I finished Alita: Battle Angel is to write this review. Continue reading Movie Review Flashback: ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Is a Massive Disappointment

Last year it was announced that Disney was merging with Fox, shocking the world and igniting the imaginations of millions as we began to envision what a Disney/Fox world in entertainment could look like. Well, as of 12:01am this morning the merger is officially complete and I’m so excited!

That means seeing the Fantastic Four and X-Men as part of the MCU and who knows what other surprises is unbelievably close and I am pumped!

Jean Grey Is Frightening In This New Trailer for ‘Dark Phoenix’

With Disney acquiring the rights to Fox last year, Dark Phoenix is set to be the last X-Men movie under Fox. That’s a truly exciting prospect, considering that if the X-Men do return it’ll be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Wow, now that’s a thought.

So, here’s the trailer for Fox’s last hurrah with its X-Men franchise, Dark Phoenix.

I don’t know anything about the X-Men movies or the characters in these movies but I do know this, Jean Grey is practically turning to the dark side in this film and it’s horrifying. Seeing all of these characters unable to contend with her power, whatever that may be, is stunning and honestly, this movie looks pretty dark.

Will it be good? I don’t know but it definitely looks interesting enough.

Whether the film is good or not this poster is off the chain! Jean Grey looks fantastic as the centerpiece of this fabulous poster and honestly, I hope it’s good.

What do you think about this trailer? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

There’s A New Movie To Possibly Look Forward To

One of my favorite things about going to see a movie is seeing the new trailers. When I went to go see The Last Jedi most of the trailers I had seen before. And then there was this special trailer that had me engaged, interested, and kind of fascinated all at the same time. The movie is called Alita: Battle Angel and here’s the trailer for it.

One thing I love is an original science fiction movie and this movie feels unlike anything I have ever seen. When I saw this trailer I felt like I was watching a book come to life. The idea of a half-robot woman who has to save the world sounds so cool.

Another thing that makes this trailer very good is the music. The music is stellar and covers me in chills. They have some amazing actors in this film too. I have a feeling that this is going to be one of the surprise movies next summer, it’s that amazing looking.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing this trailer as much as I have and I thank you for reading.
