‘A Quiet Place: Part II’ Delivers The Scares and Sets Up A Thrilling Sequel

Well, I watched A Quiet Place: Part II today…fully vaccinated and maskless, which was very rewarding as a diehard movie theater fan. There’s nothing like walking into a theater to see a movie, to smell that iconic scent of popcorn in the air, and to hear the faint rumbling of the auditoriums throughout the theater as they each play a different film.

My theater, considering that it was the earliest showing, wasn’t packed but it was full of people ready to see the sequel to Krasinski’s 2018 surprise horror masterpiece. And sure enough, A Quiet Place: Part II delivers perfectly.

Like Aliens, the sequel builds upon the story with larger action pieces built around the same sort of slow-burn infuriating tenseness that the first film delivered so brilliantly. While A Quiet Place was more profoundly terrifying due to its various situations, the sequel manages to be just as nail-bitingly tense and I loved every second of anxiety.

A Quiet Place: Part II also begs for a sequel with an ending that, like the first one, leaves you wanting more. A Quiet Place: Part III has the chance of being even bigger and better than its two predecessors and if Krasinski returns to direct and write I can see it being another hit.

We have had horror movies strike luck twice but I believe A Quiet Place: Part III could be the first of a franchise to strike three times. In fact, I can see this story being split into a spinoff limited series on HBO Max, produced by Krasinski, giving us a chance to see this story from another angle with a brand new group of people because it is fascinating.

All in all, while A Quiet Place was inspiring for its originality and a true masterclass in suspense A Quiet Place: Part II is a masterclass in understanding how to keep the story going without losing the steam.

I’ll give it 93 out of 100 and 4 out of 5 stars.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

The Ten Coolest Aliens in ‘Star Wars’

Star Wars is known mainly for its fantastic human characters and its wildly imaginative worlds and stories but a part of the reason why Star Wars is such an amazing franchise is because of the various species throughout its vast topography. And there are a LOT of incredible aliens in Star Wars. So, here are the ten aliens I find are the coolest in this lovable franchise. Enjoy!

10. The Infamous Sarlacc

databank_sarlacc_01_169_c5356bf9Ever since I saw Return of the Jedi I have been strangely fascinated by the Sarlacc. The fact that it digests its unfortunate victims over an agonizing thousand years is not only horrifying but kind of interesting. First of all, it shows that this terrifying creature has evolved to survive in the brutal, arid world of Tatooine due to its only having to eat every thousand years. Secondly, I would just love to know what exactly happens to the things it eats. I bet it would be horrifically fascinating. Continue reading The Ten Coolest Aliens in ‘Star Wars’

‘A Quiet Place: Part II’ Is Following the Playbook of ‘ALIENS’

ALIEN is one of the greatest movies of all time and easily, in my opinion, the greatest sci-fi/horror film ever made. A Quiet Place is the second best movie I’ve watched that melds horror with science-fiction and it seems that its sequel is taking ques from ALIENS.

James Cameron took the storyline conceived in ALIEN to the next level, delivering a thrilling action-packed experience that added to the greatness of the first film in abundance.

It seems that A Quiet Place: Part II is taking the same initiative by delivering an action-packed sequel with more characters, more suspense, more horror, and a whole lot more people running everywhere. That’s a smart approach considering that ALIENS is considered, according to IMDb, the 74th best movie of all time. Continue reading ‘A Quiet Place: Part II’ Is Following the Playbook of ‘ALIENS’

My Theory about C-3PO

C-3PO has been a constant presence throughout the Star Wars movies and with The Rise of Skywalker bringing the Skywalker Saga to an end it seems that J.J Abrams is going to give C-3PO more to do this time around other than just running around getting on the heroes’ nerves and spewing doom and gloom as he embarks on this incredible adventure.

Ranking 50 of the Top 250 Movies on IMDb: Part 2

Yesterday in the first part of this series I wrote which movies I listed from #50 to #40. Today I’m listing the next ten films in this series. Enjoy!

39. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

While the original Star Wars trilogy can easily be stated as one of the best movie trilogies of all time Return of the Jedi just isn’t my cup of tea. I mean, I love it. Don’t get me wrong. And I can honestly say I’ve seen this film over twenty-five times, but it is a tad bit boring. (And I’m not an Ewok fan.)

38. Toy Story

Toy Story is as unique as animated films get and while I’ve only seen it about two times I have fallen in love with this movie. It’s so much fun and has so many humorous elements because at the end of the day these are toys and it’s hilarious. I absolutely can’t wait to see what new adventures Toy Story 4 can bring us.

‘Alien’ or ‘Aliens’: Which Movie Is Better?

The Alien franchise has made a combined $1.3 billion dollars over six movies making it one of the most successful science-fiction franchises ever created. Of course, the two best films are the franchise’s first two entries; Alien and Aliens which star Sigourney Weaver as one of the greatest heroines ever conceived in movie history. These movies, helmed by two of the greatest directorial minds in our time, Ridley Scott and James Cameron, are absolutely phenomenal pieces of work.

They’re scary, wracked with suspense, and each movie tells a concise story that is perfectly made and yet they couldn’t be more different.

Alien is a film unlike any other science-fiction film ever made. It’s quiet, it’s compact, it’s intense, and it is 100% terrifying. Alien just may be one of the scariest films ever made due to its disturbing moments that will haunt even the staunchest person. From the parasite jumping on the dude’s face to the robot’s horrific killing spree malfunction, this movie is on another level of horrifying.

Ripley’s heroism and bravery in that situation are on full display as she tries to keep a level head amidst the deathly chaos and manages to kill the alien as she blasts it out to space. As the movie comes to an end it seems that this story has come to a satisfying conclusion but unfortunately for Ripley, it hasn’t.
