Well, the final trailer for Eternals has arrived and well, it’s amazing. I’m talking literally incredible. The teaser was just that, a tease, but this final trailer answers our most burning questions while introducing us to characters and beings that are literally out of this world. Check it out.
Wow, after having seen this trailer four times I can honestly say it is one of the best, most visually striking Marvel trailers that I’ve ever seen. It still leaves so much to the imagination and yet it perfectly illustrates just how incredible this movie can and probably will be.
These are aliens that look like us but are far more powerful. But it is their love for humanity that drives them to want to live among us and protect us when the time comes. Chloe Zhao understands how to make you care about characters you’ve just met and I already know, judging from this trailer, that I’m going to like these characters a lot.
I already said that the official trailer needed to be better than the teaser and well, Marvel delivered…again! Wow, wow, wow.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
Let me tell you, the 2021 Marvel train has been the greatest entertainment ride I think I’ve had since January. Roughly every week feels like Christmas with a new episode of a Marvel Disney+ series or a new announcement that has managed to blow my mind. And considering that we’re getting so much Marvel content in these last few months, the joy I’ve had about this franchise that I have grown to love so much is almost unbearably intense. I find myself having to tell myself to calm down just a little bit every week because I see something new and well, I had to tell myself the same thing today when ten incredible Entertainment Weekly covers for the Eternals came out today. Here they are.
Three weeks ago the teaser trailer for Eternals finally came out. I was so excited. Our first substantial look at the movie that Marvel Studios was keeping so heavily under wraps it felt like an Avengers film was finally here. And then I saw the teaser.
For two minutes the teaser, well, teased the possibilities. We see a horizontal alien vessel approach a coastline where ancient people watch in bewilderment. Inside the ship there are our Eternals, a race of beings created by giant (kind of creepy) space giants called Celestials. They’ve apparently been sent to Earth where they protect humanity and help with our evolution over thousands of years.
At least that’s what Salma Hayek’s Ajak narrates to us as the teaser shows these Eternals interacting with humanity, and each other, in purposely brief clips.
Eternals has been one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU since its announcement a couple of years ago but it’s also, next to Loki, been the MCU’s most secretive project. We have been waiting for a teaser trailer for over a year and now…it is here. Check it out.
I have one very blunt and precise word to describe this film: dumb. Why is it dumb, you may ask? Well, besides the captivating visuals and Oscar-worthy costume design the story was both confusing and boring with little to no willingness to make a really, really good story. I thought Maleficent was bad. I’m definitely of the opinion that its highly-anticipated sequel was worse. Far worse.
But Maleficent still manages to steal the show with her incredible powers, her flawless sense of style, her wit, and yes, that charming smile.
I’m giving this a very solid 77 out of 100 and 3 out of 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother to watch this movie.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.
In light of the new trailer that came out yesterday for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil here’s a look back at my review for Maleficent. Enjoy!
I missed seeing Disney’s Maleficent five years ago and chose to watch the sci-fi thriller starring Tom Cruise, Live, Die, Repeat:Edge of Tomorrow instead. I’m glad I did. When I finally did watch Maleficent it was not what I expected, and I don’t mean that in a good way.
Angelina Jolie is the perfect actress to play the role of the anti-hero, Maleficent. She’s fierce and conniving, benevolent and caring, but she also looks the part immensely. I mean look at those cheekbones! Amazing. But she was the only good thing about the film.
Maleficent is literally the story of Sleeping Beauty but this movie changes the narrative as we get to see the fairy tale told through Maleficent’s eyes. After being betrayed by the man Maleficent thought truly loved her she cursed his daughter to fall asleep on the night before her sixteenth birthday by pricking her finger on a spindle’s wheel. And the only way she could be woken was through true love’s kiss, which she believed didn’t exist, so the girl would sleep for eternity.
