Watching ‘Avatar’ Again Has Made Me Excited for ‘Avatar 2’

I don’t watch Avatar often. The first time I watched it was in 2009 when it was all the rage. I remember enjoying it and being WOWED by the visuals. I hadn’t seen it again until a few years ago when I was reminded then why I enjoyed the film the first time I saw it. And then I watched it for only the third time yesterday with my sister and we were both overwhelmed by the beauty (oftentimes, literally) of the story.

No, Avatar isn’t a story unlike anything we’ve ever seen before but it does a great job honing the simplicity to new heights. By the last third of the film I wished I was an Avatar seeking to help protect Pandora from the humans’ greed alongside Jake Sully and Neytiri.

Avatar 2, which will come out next December, will have come out twelve years after the film that would wow audiences around the world and honestly if it’s just as good a story as the first film is, it just might dethrone Avengers: Endgame to reclaim the top spot as the highest-grossing movie of all time.

And the graphics, oh my goodness, they are going to be AMAZING! I can’t wait to eventually see the trailer for this highly-anticipated and long-awaited sequel.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

Movie Spotlight: ‘Avatar’

Avatar, until Avengers: Endgame broke box-office records left and right, used to be the highest-grossing film of all time. For years I have wondered how this film with its super basic storyline could’ve made so much money but it did. It wowed moviegoers with its groundbreaking use of visual effects and its stunning world of Pandora was unlike anything ever experienced in a science-fiction film before it.

Over the last couple of years, my appreciation for this movie and all of the things that make it so special has grown and so, for this week’s Movie Spotlight I wanted to highlight this fantastic film.

Avatar is currently available to watch on Disney+.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Disney’s New Era of Storytelling Will Be Something To Witness This Decade

Disney loves franchise world-building. It’s what has made the House of Mouse a powerhouse in the last half of the 2010s’. In fact, last year was one of Disney’s best years at the box-office with films becoming billion-dollar hits left and right.

Captain MarvelAvengers: Endgame would become the highest-grossing film of all time nearly making $3 billion, AladdinThe Lion KingSpider-Man: Far from Home, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, these were all of the Disney films that made over a billion dollars last year. And Disney isn’t slowing down.

This decade is almost staggering to think about when it comes to the stories we can expect this decade and leading the charge is Marvel, Star Wars, and the Avatar films.

Marvel is almost dizzying to think about when it comes to all of the entertainment we can expect in just the new few years. Continue reading Disney’s New Era of Storytelling Will Be Something To Witness This Decade

And Just When You Thought You Had Enough of ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Avengers: Endgame debuted worldwide about a month and a half ago. In that time it has managed to make over 2.7 billion dollars and is nearing Avatar‘s record for the highest-grossing film of all time. So, what does Kevin Feige have in store for avid Marvel fans in the days before Spider-Man: Far from Home. Apparently, from June 28-30, Avengers: Endgame will, according to Kevin Feige, “Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises.”

Um…woah. I mean…woah.

Avatar is a great movie but compared to Avengers: Endgame there’s no contest. Endgame deserves to hold that top spot and honestly, the thought of seeing a deleted scene, a touching tribute, and whatever surprises Marvel may have in store for us, is worth going to see the movie again.

And what makes it even more worth seeing, Avatar has made $2.78 billion. Avengers: Endgame is currently around $2.74 billion.

Come on, fellow Avengers. Let’s assemble and push this movie to the top of the record books. We. Are. Groot!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have an amazing day.
