Today reaches the conclusion of my three-part review for Before the Awakening, a book focusing on the sequel trilogy’s three most important heroes; Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron months, years, and days before The Force Awakens. Because each story was so fantastic I had to break this review up to give an adequate analysis of each section and unfortunately, the final part was the most boring.

We all know of Finn’s story after he betrayed the First Order and joined his newfound friends Rey and Poe in an adventure of a lifetime. What we aren’t as knowledgable about, however, is his life before he gave up the First Order insignia for good.
I always felt that it would be somewhat boring learning of his days as a sanitation worker/burgeoning stormtrooper. Oh, how wrong I was. Before the Awakening doesn’t focus on his duties cleaning floors and…bathrooms *shudder* but rather his time as simply a stormtrooper training for the impending battle.
