There’s a Secret Marvel Movie Coming Out Next Year!

If you haven’t noticed Marvel Studios is jam-packing a lot of content into our faces in the next few years. I’m talking Disney+ series and so many movies it’s almost hard to keep up and yet…I’m excited for all of it.

With the Black Widow release date announcement two days ago the Marvel Studios schedule shifted and new “official” dates were released for the franchise’s slate of upcoming movies leading all the way into 2023. In case you don’t know them, here are the movie dates for the officially announced films in 2021 and 2022.

July 9, 2021: Black Widow

September 3, 2021: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

November 5, 2021: The Eternals

‘Captain Marvel 2’ Adds Another Cast Member

Captain Marvel 2 is getting closer and closer to begin filming and now the primary cast of the sequel is growing a little further.

British actress Zawe Ashton has been reportedly cast as the main antagonist of Captain Marvel 2. This leaves me to wonder who will she be playing?

I have already expressed the idea that she could be playing Karla Sofen a.k.a Moonstone, a psychologist who comes into contact with a Kree Gravity Stone on the moon and assumes incredible power such as pass through matter, project laser beams, and with two of these stones she can control gravitational forces, create force fields, and she can crush an enemy by increasing gravity.

This sounds like quite the antagonist and could be a perfect individual to give the likes of Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Ms. Marvel a run for their money.

We’ll see who she’s ultimately playing but overall, I’m excited about this casting. This is turning out to be one of the most diverse Marvel movies ever made and I am SO ready for this sequel.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Disney Investor Day: Marvel Edition

All of the Star Wars news was undoubtedly exhilarating to learn about but the news that knocked me off my feet was all of that thrilling Marvel Studios news. Marvel Studios has grown into a monopoly I trust wholeheartedly and so, because of that, when they announce something I feel no reservations. Instead, I am overcome with so much joy and excitement that I pretty much don’t even think about Star Wars for that duration of time.

It was announced during Thursday’s Disney Investor Day that we would in fact be getting four! Marvel Disney+ series next year and so, with that being said, let’s look at them.

Throwback Friday: Who Should be the Primary Antagonist in ‘Captain Marvel 2’?

It’s going to take a while before we get to see Captain Marvel kicking more butt in her sequel which is supposed to come out in 2022. Until then, we can only speculate where her journey will take her next.

Of course, considering that Captain Marvel is so unbelievably powerful, it’s hard to imagine an antagonist that can take her through the wringer in the sequel but there will always be villains that can combat Marvel’s mightiest heroes. And it turns out, Captain Marvel 2 can feature a female antagonist that could actually give Carol Danvers a run for her money.

Meet Karla Sofen a.k.a Moonstone, a psychologist to a criminal mastermind who came into contact with a Kree Gravity stone on the Moon and assumed its incredible powers. She acquired the ability to fly, pass through matter, project laser beams, and with the power of a second stone, can control gravitational forces, enabling her to move and otherwise manipulate matter, to create force fields, to increase gravity around a target and crush it, to generate miniature black holes and even to transport objects through dimensional rifts.

‘Captain Marvel 2’ Should Be a Prequel Sequel

Captain Marvel 2 will be coming out in a few years, most likely 2022, and unlike previous superhero franchises that have played out in the MCU, her sequel will most likely take place in the timeline before the events of Iron Man.

You see, the end of Captain Marvel is hinting at a lot of story threads that need to be completed such as Carol’s confrontation with the Supreme Intelligence, her war with the Kree (and Ronan), and how she will help the Skrull find a home. Jude Law’s character, Yon-Rogg, was kept alive, meaning he could return in the sequel as a villain or he could join Carol in the fight against the Kree.

This is a storyline that could prove to be very intriguing and fun to watch as well as introduce some new characters that could make the sequel much more interesting.

Now, is this a good thing that her sequel will once again take place in the past? Considering that Captain Marvel is late to the party, it’s perfectly fine, as it will give us a greater understanding of the personal journey she’s been through leading up to the events of Avengers: Endgame.

However, I kind of wish her sequel would take place after the events of Endgame simply because I’m loving her short hairdo.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
