My Ten Favorite Animated Disney Movies

Disney movies are the best! They’re bright and colorful, beautifully animated, filled with the finest and most inspiring characters, and just really good. I’ve been watching a lot of Disney movies lately and yeah, I decided to do an updated ranking of my ten favorite Disney movies. Enjoy!

(This list focuses on Disney movies, not Disney/Pixar movies. There is a difference, lol.)

10. Beauty and the Beast

My first viewing of Beauty and the Beast was the live-action version and while I personally like that version the most, the animated classic is a classic for a reason.

The Beast is more expressive thanks to the animation and there’s real heart to this film. Plus, it makes me cry at the end. The live-action version does not.

My Ten Favorite Disney Movies

My love for Disney didn’t start with the company aggrandizing two of my favorite franchises, Marvel and Star Wars. That only increased my love and respect for Disney. But far before Disney became synonymous with Marvel and Star Wars I loved this franchise for its wonderful children’s movies. As a child, I would listen to this Disney CD that we had that contained all of the greatest Disney songs and those gleeful/magical melodies would take me to a whole new world (pun totally intended.)

As a Disney fan, today I would like to share with you my ten favorite Disney movies. Enjoy!

10. Finding Nemo

As a child I couldn’t get enough of Finding Nemo. As an adult, while the magic has dwindled, it still manages to bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. A must-watch for children of all ages. 🙂 Continue reading My Ten Favorite Disney Movies

Movie Review Flashback: ‘Coco’ Is One of the Most Beautiful Movies I Have Ever Seen

2017’s Oscar winner for Best Animated Film was this movie that I’m dedicating this post; Coco. And for good reason. A few years ago the animated movie that was all the rage was Inside Out so of course, I wanted to watch it. When I finally did watch Inside Out I was overwhelmingly underwhelmed. The movie didn’t catch my interest as much as I imagined and the emotional moments were almost laughably unemotional. It was so awful in fact that I didn’t finish it. So, since then, I watch critically-acclaimed children’s movies with little expectations so I won’t be too disappointed and that’s how I went into my viewing of Coco.

It was all the talk at the end of 2017 and I could only hope that it would be as good as everyone said it was. Um…it was!!! And more.

Coco follows the story of a young boy whose love for music takes him on a magical journey to the Land of the Dead where he embarks on a riveting adventure. While there was a lot of marketing buzz around Coco I’m glad that I didn’t know the plot of the film so I could watch with fresh eyes and emotions.

Through the first half of the movie, I was definitely engaged in the story for its interesting storyline and beautiful cultural magnificence. Before this movie, I didn’t really know anything about the Day of the Dead or its significance to those who celebrate it but now, after this film, I think it’s an utterly beautiful holiday.

As I said before, the first half of the film was already enjoyable but it wasn’t until a shocking twist that I definitely didn’t see coming in the second half of the story that I truly realized how magnificent this movie was.

Let me warn you now. If you watch Coco be prepared to have plenty of tissues nearby because this film released the waterworks on me on multiple occasions. It’s rare to watch a movie and not see a certain twist coming but this movie just kept dishing out the twists that took me on an emotional rollercoaster.

By the end of the film, I was weeping and applauding. I was a mess. And that song “Remember Me” is Disney gold. It’s SUCH a beautiful song. Oh my goodness.
