Will The Attractions at ‘Star Wars’ Galaxy’s Edge Get Boring Over Time?

(This is a repost.)

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is the newest obsession at Disneyland and Disney World, a literal Star Wars land that gives guests a chance to journey to a galaxy far, far away. You can savor otherworldly delights that transport you to different planets in the Star Wars universe or create your dream lightsaber. You can even garner your own customized droid and buy plenty of other Star Wars-related goodness.

But more importantly, you get a chance to board the Millennium Falcon and embark on one of the land’s attractions, Smuggler’s Run, where you can literally pilot the iconic craft. Or, you can walk a little down the way and find the Galaxy’s Edge second highly-anticipated attraction, Rise of the Resistance.

Both are exciting attractions that one day I am utterly thrilled to partake in myself but…in the case of these highly immersive attractions, could they ever get boring? Specifically, Rise of the Resistance.

Star Wars is an ever-changing franchise that expands and gets greater with every new imaginative person who wants to bring something new to the table. Star Tours is great because it can change over time, allowing hundreds of different variations of the iconic Disneyland and Disney World ride. Smuggler’s Run could change but Rise of the Resistance can not.

Ten years from now when The Rise of Skywalker becomes nothing more than an old memory we may want to forget (considering that many people’s reaction to the film was less than joyous) and the characters seem less exciting to see will this attraction still be enjoyable to ride or will it become a glorified monument of the past?

Let me share my own experience with this sort of situation.

Nearly a decade ago I visited Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and boy did my family and I have a great time. There were some attractions and areas I will never forget, namely the Harry Potter land and the Marvel-themed section of the park but there was an attraction we went on that felt less than thrilling.

E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Florida.

It was the E.T Adventure attraction, a ride inspired by the iconic Steven Spielberg film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. My family and I got on it in 2011 (it’s since been refurbished in 2017) and were utterly underwhelmed. In the 80s’ I’m sure it was great. In the early 2010s’, eh, not so much. I have never been so bored or uninterested in a ride in my life.

I’m simply hoping the rides for Galaxy’s Edge do not suffer this same horrible fate.

Have you been to Galaxy’s Edge and been on the rides? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. May the Force be with you.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Is Going To Be Amazing!

If you may not have noticed a new expansion is coming to Disneyland and Disney World this coming year that focuses on, yeah, Star Wars. If you’ve ever wanted to somehow visit the Star Wars universe it is literally going to be possible in a few months and Disney, over the past week, has released so much information about the wonderful Galaxy’s Edge that I had to share it with you all. I’m not going to delve into all of the details to keep things a bit secret but I’m going to definitely share with you some of the things coming to a galaxy very near us that are going to be AWESOME! Enjoy. 🙂

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

One of the attractions coming to this fantastic expansion is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. It’s supposed to be one of the largest attractions, if not the largest attraction in Disneyland and Disney World that immerses you in a battle involving the First Order and the Resistance. Rey, Finn, Poe, and BB-8, played by the actual actors, will accompany you in the attraction (wow!) and you’re also supposed to come face to face with Kylo Ren. Scary.

While much detail hasn’t been given about the ride it’s obviously going to be absolutely incredible.

A New Planet Has Been Revealed on Star Tours!

If you’ve ever been to Disney World or DisneyLand and you’re a Star Wars fans you’re definitely going to go to the Star Wars section and get on the area’s ride, Star Tours. The last time I got on Star Tours it was two years before The Force Awakens even came out and so the worlds we flew through were of the original and prequel trilogy but it was still an absolute blast. And now a new planet has come to the marvelous and very fun attraction, Star Tours, and I’m excited to share it with you.

batuu-tall

This is the planet, Batuu and it’s a remote world that’s home to smugglers, adventurers, etc. and because it’s a little off stream it’s also a very good hiding place for those who want to escape the expanding reach of the First Order. Hmm, maybe I’m reading into this new planet a little too hard but I think Disney is secretly showing everybody another new location that’s going to make its debut in The Last Jedi and this is why I think that.

First off, if this is a planet that’s safe from the eyes of the First Order then wouldn’t this be a lovely refuge for the fleeing Resistance? I would think so.

Secondly, there was reports that they were filming some scenes in Croatia and in the behind-the-scenes video that appeared this July there was a moment where it showed cameramen making a beautiful shot of Croatia. If you look at this new planet the buildings do look very Croatian and if you add some CGI they could easily make Croatia a beautiful planet in the galaxy of Star Wars.

And third, it said in the original article, which was on starwars.com, that Batuu is a place where people go off to epic adventures. That definitely sounds correct when it comes to The Last Jedi because I’m sure they’re going to be lots of epic adventures in the movie.

Now I might be completely wrong about this theory but when does Star Tours just get a new planet added to its long list of planets less than a month before a Star Wars movie comes out? That’s kind of a huge clue that this really is a new planet from The Last Jedi if you ask me. And there’s also the fact that they aren’t really showing anything when it comes to the Resistance side of the story for The Last Jedi. We know Rey is training with Luke, we know a little bit about Kylo Ren, but the side with Finn and Poe and General Leia, they’re keeping us pretty much in the dark about that side of the story…for some particular reason. If I’m right and this is a new planet that’ll be in The Last Jedi I’m going to be the happiest person ever.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day. May the Force Be With You.
