‘Jungle Cruise’ Is the Ride of the Summer!

There’s something about experiencing the greatness of Disney. It’s a feeling that permeates your very soul to the core and leaves you utterly filled with joy. That is the feeling Jungle Cruise gave me yesterday.

A few weeks ago I was one of those people who told myself that I would watch Jungle Cruise when it arrived on Disney+ for free. Then we went to see Snake Eyes. Suddenly, after somewhat enjoying the film that garnered a 38% Rotten score from critics, I thought to myself, “Oh what the heck. I might as well see Jungle Cruise too.”

When the first reactions spilled online and they painted a picture of fun, summertime movie watching I began to get excited about watching the film. Especially when I began to remember that every Emily Blunt movie I’ve watched has been an enjoyable experience.

So yesterday I went to my local Regal IMAX theater with my family and for two hours I was sucked into Disney World essentially. Jungle Cruise is no masterpiece in originality but it manages to infuse the best parts of other classic summer films–Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mummy, Indiana Jones–to become something that, in its own right, is something special.

‘Justice League’ Gets a Face Lift and ‘Black Adam’ Looks Awesome!

We’ve been waiting for the trailer for #TheSnyderCut since it was announced that we would be getting to see it and here we go, the trailer for #TheSnyderCut. Enjoy!

Yo! I’m so impressed. I’ve seen Justice League enough times to know what needed to be changed and what differences #TheSnyderCut has made. This trailer literally had my jaw dropped. I’m talking, mouth open in sheer wonder.

The cinematography retained that dark, gritty look that I’ve gotten used to with Batman vs. Superman and yes, we’re finally going to get more of these new characters in ways that wasn’t as fleshed out in the theatrical version.

I’m so ready to see this new-and-improved version of Justice League and I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store.

And then there was Black Adam which I’ve been waiting to see as well.

Movie Review Flashback: ‘Moana’ Is a Beautiful Movie For the Empowerment of Young Girls

I watched Moana because I’ve been wanting to see it for two years straight. I had, for a while, lost interest in Disney movies but Frozen reawakened that excitement. I literally own Frozen, I enjoyed it that much. I know most of the songs by heart and the story was superbly told as it was unlike any Disney princess movie I had seen. So, since then I watched Zootopia, which I loved, and Inside Out, which I actually didn’t like that much if I’m being honest but I had never gotten around to watching Moana. Well, I’ve finally seen it and I can honestly say, it’s a beautiful movie.

There is a lot of heart to this story and what made it such a fantastic film for young girls to see is the fact that it truly stayed front and center on Moana through the entirety of the movie. The story never deferred from her, she was always the hero through the vast majority of the film, and it showed that girls can be just as heroic as the boys any day. Whenever she found herself in tough situations she used her wit and determination to get out of it and whenever she was at her lowest she found the inner strength to keep going. Moana isn’t a story about a princess falling in love with a prince but rather a young woman wanting to save the world and that is a powerful change to the narrative of girls in Disney movies. ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ Is a Fun Action Movie

I keep saying it time and time again, I wasn’t into the Fast and Furious franchise until The Fate of the Furious. Yeah, you diehard fans may have your favorite installment in the franchise but that was the first one that made me say, “Okay, this is pretty good.” And in the film, you have the lovable relationship between Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham.) Together, they make a fun experience as they talk cold smack to one another as they kick butt and save the world.

This is taken up a notch in Hobbs and Shaw as their lovable banter permeates the story in a really comedic and lovable way. But beyond the actual laugh-out-loud humor, this is a straight-up classic action movie with plenty of explosions, car chases, and lots and lots of hand-to-hand smackdown. Plus, you’ve got the cool heroes who you can’t help rooting for and the equally cool villain that brings everything into place. Continue reading ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ Is a Fun Action Movie

‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Was Exactly What I Expected: Super Fun!

Two years ago my family and I watched Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle after hearing all of the praise surrounding it. When we watched the movie we were pleasantly surprised by how fun and entertaining the film turned out being. The sequel was announced and we couldn’t wait to see it.

Thanks to AMC Theatres for giving me a free coupon code to watch any rentable movie I wanted on demand because my family and I jumped at the chance to see Jumanji: The Next Level and boy did it not disappoint.

I’m going to say this outright, I liked this film more than the first one. There were some really fun character moments, I liked that it was basically the same as Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle except with harder situations to overcome and more characters, and Danny Glover and Danny Devito’s additions to the movie was absolute perfection. Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black unsurprisingly knocked it out of the park but let’s give a shoutout to Awkwafina. ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ Drops Its Thrilling Final Trailer

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a welcome surprise in 2017, delivering a hilarious reboot that pleased the masses. Even my mother, who isn’t a huge fan of goofy movies like this, absolutely LOVED it. Now, its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level is coming out in about a month and a half and the final trailer has arrived today. Here it is.

As expected, the trailer was a riot and clearly highlighted the very simple fact that this sequel is going to be yet another blast to watch. Last time we watched it we saw it at home but this time we’re determined to go watch it in the movie theaters and enjoy it with a crowd because it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
