A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Wasp

Hope van Dyne didn’t debut as a superhero in Ant-Man. She was basically no more than a secretary who just so happened to know martial arts…very well. It wasn’t until the end of the film that we got to see her in action but it wasn’t solidified that she would have a bigger role in the franchise as a superhero until the first post-credits scene for the film when it highlighted staring at her unfinished Wasp super suit in awe.

It made Hope more than just a pretty face. She was a hero who was just as heroic and capable of saving the world as Scott Lang. Unfortunately, she was one of the victims of Thanos’s infamous snap, meaning she can’t help try to defeat Thanos. At least, not yet.

While she hasn’t been in many films so far she has had a few posters and I’m very excited to share them with you. So, here they are. Enjoy!

I love this poster because of the humor behind it. You see, at this point in her life, she pretty much despised Scott Lang. She believed she was more capable than him for the task he was given and was constantly ready to wear her father’s suit but when he wouldn’t let her she gained an annoyance to Scott who she felt didn’t deserve to wear such a powerful piece of technology. Hence, her annoyed expression on this poster. Lol.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Hope van Dyne returns in the Ant-Man sequel not as a returning secretary but as a superhero. (I love it!) Goodbye to the makeup, fingernail polish, and fancy hair. Now she’s ready to fight with a much cleaner look and hair that clearly resembles someone who’s been sweating. Um, awesome. And she looks so perfect for that suit by the way.

The unique gold color, the perfect blue, the red, everything about her suit screams cool.

Avengers: Endgame

Wasp in this poster looks almost regretful. Like she wishes could help kick whoever’s butt placed her in this awful position. Unfortunately, she can’t, because she’s dead. But if she returns, which I’m sure she will, she is going to relish giving Thanos the beatdown he deserves.

I can’t wait to share with you all the character posters for Captain Marvel tomorrow. That’s going to be fun.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a remarkable day.

Where Does Wasp Rank Among the Marvel Heroines?

Wasp is the latest Marvel heroine to arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it’s exciting, as a woman, to see so many awesome ladies take charge and kick butt in these superhero movies. I recently did a two-part post looking at the evolution of women in Marvel and it’s sad seeing how women were treated in the first phases of the MCU. Women were depicted as damsels in distress who were only utilized into the movies as tools for romance for the dashing heroes. And Black Widow was treated not as an accomplished assassin but rather as eye candy who just so happened to be able to kick butt at the same time.

Marvel has evolved since then and now it isn’t even a surprise to see awesome superhero women in these movies anymore. And with Wasp, who is the first Marvel heroine to have her name in the title of a movie, the portrayal of women in the MCU has only gotten better. But how does she stack up to the other awesome heroines that have come before her? That’s what I’m here to share with you. Enjoy!

I’m Experiencing Some Massive Excitement for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to officially burst into theaters tomorrow and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m kind of super excited to see this movie. I went to see Ant-Man back in 2015, long story short I didn’t like it, but as the months have gone by and the ruckus surrounding Avengers: Infinity War has slowly faded away my intrigue of the next installment in this eensy-weensy sized superhero series has risen exponentially. Who’s the driving force behind that growing excitement? Wasp, the first female superhero to have her name in the title of a Marvel film. Um, yeah, that’s awesome.

Hope van Dyne made her debut in Ant-Man and I immediately loved her just as much as I loved Scott Lang’s hilariousness. She wasn’t the typical love interest that most of the Marvel films depicted but rather she acted as Ant-Man’s mentor, gloriously teaching him in very painful fashions how to handle himself in a fight. Eventually romantic feelings began to blossom between the destined superhero duo but it never felt forced or unnecessary and it didn’t diminish her character in the slightest. Now we’re finally getting to see her in action as Wasp and I couldn’t be more excited.

It’s also awesome to see women take charge and kicking booty and it appears that she will be providing that in abundance throughout the movie.

The First Look at Wasp Is Here!

Ant-Man and the Wasp is the third and final Marvel film coming out this year and, thanks to Marvel Studios, we have our first official look at Wasp. Check it out.

Oh my goodness, doesn’t she look awesome?! I watched Ant-Man and while I didn’t like it very much I had no problem with Hope van Dyne in the film because I love Evangeline Lilly. She was marvelous as the elven warrior, Tauriel in The Hobbit Trilogy and so for her to become a Marvel superhero was exciting enough as it is. Now we have an official look at her suit as the Wasp and I am thrilled.

She was already cool when she wasn’t a superhero but now that she’s donned her mother’s suit she’s even greater now. I know for a fact that she’s going to probably become one of my favorite female superheroes and I’m glad she’ll add to the expanding list of awesome heroines in Hollywood.

I can’t believe it, but I’m starting to actually get excited to see this movie a little bit. Whenever the teaser for this film comes out (it’ll probably be after Black Panther hits theaters) I think it’ll actually be fun to watch. Hopefully.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing this picture as much as I did. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
