My Ten Favorite Animated Disney Movies

Disney movies are the best! They’re bright and colorful, beautifully animated, filled with the finest and most inspiring characters, and just really good. I’ve been watching a lot of Disney movies lately and yeah, I decided to do an updated ranking of my ten favorite Disney movies. Enjoy!

(This list focuses on Disney movies, not Disney/Pixar movies. There is a difference, lol.)

10. Beauty and the Beast

My first viewing of Beauty and the Beast was the live-action version and while I personally like that version the most, the animated classic is a classic for a reason.

The Beast is more expressive thanks to the animation and there’s real heart to this film. Plus, it makes me cry at the end. The live-action version does not.

Movie Review Flashback: My Review of ‘Frozen II’

Before the behind-the-scenes documentary arrives on Disney+ check out my review of one of the highest-grossing films of 2019: Frozen II. Enjoy!

Before I write this review of Frozen II let me say this, I’m an avid adult Frozen fan. Translated: I’m not as obsessed with the film as little girls surely are but I have seen it multiple times and am a fan of the songs, particularly “Let It Go” which I sing to myself all of the time. So, once again, I love Frozen.

The film subverted what I’ve come to expect with Disney princess movies and told a modern-age story that felt poignant, inspiring, and downright beautiful. Plus, being someone who has a sister that I love to death, it made the story that much sweeter.

When Frozen II came out I couldn’t wait to eventually see it. The reviews weren’t scintillating but I was still intrigued.

Now, is Frozen II better than the first one? Easy answer, no, which isn’t surprising considering that the film didn’t even garner an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, but it was pretty entertaining. There are things about the film that I really liked and things that I felt didn’t connect this time around. So, I’ll detail this review in the pros and cons sort of layout. Let’s get those cons out of the way first. Continue reading Movie Review Flashback: My Review of ‘Frozen II’

My Favorite Disney Songs

One of the reasons why I love animated Disney movies so much are the classic songs that fill you with happiness and cover your arms in goosebumps. Those songs are what make movies like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin so incredibly memorable and enjoyable. Without these glorious songs I don’t think those movies would be quite as magical as they are still to this day. So, since I was thinking about Disney songs today, I’m going to share with you the ballads that make me the happiest and urge me to sing along. Enjoy!

“Under the Sea”

Who doesn’t love “Under the Sea?” I have never seen The Little Mermaid and yet this song is so amazing and fun to sing that I know it almost entirely by heart. Especially the last section of the song. It’s absolutely brilliant and it reminds me every time I hear it why I love Disney so much.

“When You Wish Upon A Star”

This just might be one of the most beautiful Disney songs ever created, for its inspiring lyrics and melodic tone is legitimately lovely. This is definitely one of my favorite Disney songs.

Frozen and Frozen II has some of the best songs in the franchise, surprisingly rivaling even the songs of the classic animated Disney movies with tunes that feel modern, powerful, and beautiful/fun to listen to.
