A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Star-Lord

Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy seems like a rascally scoundrel with a bombastic attitude at first meeting but there’s a lot more emotional depth to him than meets the eye. Having only one parent to provide for him as a child made losing his beloved mother as a child all the more heartbreaking. He never wanted to show weakness or emotion due to Yondu’s reckless upbringing so he hid all of his sadder emotions behind a careless facade whose main goal was getting rich and finding chicks.

Star-Lord’s kinder side, however, would lead him to becoming a galactic hero and definitely one of my favorite characters in the MCU. Here are his character posters. Enjoy!

Guardians of the Galaxy

With Guardians of the Galaxy being Star-Lord’s debut this poster had to show him in a very heroic light and as the clear leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy so it’s no surprise that this poster looks so awesome. With his blasters in hand and the serious expression on his face Star-Lord looks like a hero fighting alongside to save the galaxy.

A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Gamora

Gamora was only the second major heroine to make an appearance in the MCU, the other being Black Widow. Like Black Widow, she was an assassin with a dark past. Her ties to Thanos would end up playing a large role in the overall story and her knowledge of the Soul Stone would make her one of the most important characters in Avengers: Infinity War. Unfortunately, because she knew the whereabouts of the Soul Stone she would end up perishing by the hands of her adopted father, bringing her story to a grinding halt, but there is always the possibility that she could return to the living via Endgame. Thankfully we only have a little over a week to find out. 🙂

Here are her character posters. Enjoy!

Guardians of the Galaxy

In this poster, Gamora looks like a deadly rogue who you would not want to mess with. The crooked smile makes her seem like she could either be a villain or a heroic scallywag. She would, of course, end up being a hero.

A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Groot

Ever since I saw Groot for the first time in the teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy I have loved this character for his unique Chewbacca-like persona in the film. Of course, the original Groot would end up perishing in the first Guardians movie but, being a tree and all, he would live on through his offspring, another humanoid tree creature named Groot.

His evolution in the franchise has been one of the most literally evolving stories in the MCU and I’m so excited to take a deeper look at his posters. Enjoy!

Guardians of the Galaxy

This poster is so cool. The original Groot was obviously of a much kinder variety. The pleasant smile on his face highlights his cheery personality and the blue background is just…beautiful.

A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Rocket

Sorry everyone for missing my post for this series yesterday. With the teaser for The Rise of Skywalker dropping my brain was totally occupied with everything Star Wars, so I completely forgot to drop the next set of posters. But, I’m back to the nitty-gritty so today Rocket is featured. Fun!

Rocket is totally one of the coolest characters in the MCU. First off, he’s a raccoon and yet somehow watching him run around with a giant gun in his tiny hands and talking cold smack about everybody doesn’t seem weird. In fact, it’s perfect. I liked Rocket as soon as he showed up in Guardians of the Galaxy and now, five years later, I can’t wait to see this next chapter of his story. So let’s get to his posters.

Guardians of the Galaxy

With his ferocious expression and giant gun in hand, it’s pretty clear that Rocket isn’t one to trifle with.
