Which Movie Do You Want to See Take Home the Prize for Best Picture?

The Oscars take place tonight and that means eight movies have a chance to take home the big prize. Which one will it be and who do you want to see win the big award?

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Here is the Partly Shocking list of Oscar Nominations

If you were expecting Awkwafina to get her first Oscar nomination for The Farewell, well, she didn’t. If you thought Jennifer Lopez was well on her way to having a nomination for her critically-acclaimed role in Hustlers…think again. If you thought Frozen II was an incredible film and totally deserving of an Oscar nomination The Academy had other plans.

The Oscars this year delivered a lot of snubs, showcasing a list of nominations that lack both diversity and excitement. On the bright note, Joker would end up making history by receiving 11 nominations, the most of any comic book film. (Maybe Hollywood is finally beginning to understand the hard work achieved to make a fantastic comic book movie.) So, on that note, here is the list of Oscar nominations. Enjoy!

(I am only sharing the categories I found to be the most important.)

Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling

  1. Joker
  2. Bombshell
  3. Judy
  4. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
  5. 1917

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil nabs its only Oscar nomination for Makeup and Hairstyling and I’m not surprised. It has fascinated me since Maleficent how they have managed to transform Angelina Jolie into a powerful (and slightly scary) fairy. So amazing! My Review of ‘Joker’

I’ve heard the hype since the Venice Film Festival when a screening of Joker received an eight-minute standing ovation by the critics at the film’s conclusion. I saw the scintillating reviews and the words of praise directed to the movie. I saw the trailers and commercials which painted a riveting picture of a film that would, in detail, describe Arthur Fleck’s descent into further madness and the eventual alter-ego that he would become, Joker.

After the film garnered two Golden Globes for Best Original Score and Best Actor my family and I decided to finally watch it. Believe the hype because this movie is really good.

Is it the best comic book movie I’ve ever seen? No. That honor still stands with The Dark Knight. But it is, undoubtedly, one of the best comic book movies I’ve seen in recent years and promising development for where comic book movies can go in the coming decade. The Golden Globes: Who’s Taking Home the Prize?

The Golden Globes are tonight (woo-hoo!) and that means the first major movie award season has begun. Who will win? What surprises are in store? And will it dictate the outcome of the Oscars? We’ll find out soon enough. But for now, here’s my prediction of the Golden Globe results from tonight. Enjoy!

Best Animated Feature Film

While Toy Story 4 isn’t the best installment in the quadrilogy going up against films like Missing LinkHow to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and even Frozen 2, which would not receive the same amount of praise as its predecessor, it seems like Toy Story 4 is the clear favorite to win. Here is the Fascinating List of Golden Globe Nominations!

The list of the Golden Globe nominations was released yesterday and it was clearly exciting. This is the moment I wait for all year and while this isn’t a definitive idea of what to expect for the Oscars it’s very clear that this award season is going to be stacked to the rafters with talent and arguments for each actor and actress to win the awards this season. So, with no further delay, here’s the list of Golden Globe nominations.

(I will stick to listing the movies and not the television shows.)

Best Animated Feature Film

Three animated Disney movies in the run for Best Animated Film at the Golden Globes. Which one will win? I’m guessing that Toy Story 4 will probably take home the title, considering that it was a legitimately good story with plenty of heart, as expected. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, if better, would probably be the home run favorite for the recipient of this prize. And Frozen II, while smashing box-office expectations, was said to feel a bit derivative and not unique enough to stand out. Is the Dark Storytelling for ‘Joker’ Too Good?

Joker is taking the cinema world by storm as it continues to premiere at film festivals and rock movie critics’ worlds. But there’s a consensus between some critics that Joker‘s dark storytelling is so well-made that it may actually inspire more violence in the United States.

With mass shootings occurring every day and movie theater shootings have happened in the past critics fear that Joker‘s tale of a man on the brink of sanity finally deciding to go off and kill a whole bunch of people may inspire others with the same philosophy to follow The Joker’s playbook, which would be HORRIBLE.

And, as people prepare for the film’s premiere this Thursday is Texas US Army military has found “credible” evidence that certain individuals are considering “the targeting of an unknown movie theater during the release” on the dark web. Costumes, face masks, and paint has also been banned at all movie theaters for moviegoers and employees for the film. Yeah, the fear surrounding this film’s disturbing message is no joke.

Yes, we love a good story that strikes us in our very core but Joker may have taken things a little too far.
