If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 20

The silence felt extra dense as Qi’ra, Han, Chewbacca, and Tobias Beckett stood around Lando who was still cradling a spasming L3-37 in his arms.

Tobias looked to Lando. Lando looked to Tobias. Lando’s head fell.

Qi’ra watched quietly, her own throat tightening as his sorrow washed over her.

“Lando,” L3-37 weakly spoke.

“Hold on, L3. I’ve got you.”

“Lando,” L3-37 continued. “Lando. What’s happening…to…me?”

With those final words, the droid ceased to move and her light faded away.

“L3,” Lando said. “L3! Come on, baby, answer me!”

Qi’ra’s gaze saddened. Tobias Beckett left the room. And Chewbacca quietly grunted.

“I can fix you,” he continued to say. “I can, I can,” he suddenly stopped himself, instead choosing to sigh and place his head on L3-37’s.

Qi’ra slowly approached him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

“Lando,” she said.

He looked up at her, his brown eyes wet with tears.

“It’s going to be okay,” she said.

He grabbed her hand and smiled sadly. “Thank you, Qi’ra,” he said.

She nodded and turned to leave, heading to the cockpit.

If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 19

Qi’ra heard the chaos before she saw it. As she emerged from the facility’s tunnels blaster fire and yells filled the air. She scanned the area before her, clouds of steam from the pools of green liquid partially obscuring her view, and finally, her gaze fell upon the Millennium Falcon which sat like a beacon across the way.

She unclipped her blaster, following behind Tobias Beckett who forged ahead, blasters blazing. A Pyke guard shot at her back but fortunately missed. She whirled, her red cape sweeping around her, and shot him dead in the chest.

Another Pyke charged her left side and she immediately ducked before shooting him directly in the face. He fell into a nearby pool. Continue reading If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 19

If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 17

Qi’ra hurried to the monitors to see where Han and Chewbacca was. To her dismay, they weren’t anywhere to be found.

Her heartbeat’s pace quickened as her eyes frantically searched the screens.

“Where are you?” Qi’ra whispered under her breath. “Where are you?”

She still couldn’t see them. Maybe her worst fears had come true. Maybe Han and Chewbacca’s ruse had been discovered and they had been killed before the mission could even begin. If Han was dead she would never be able to forgive herself for not telling him the truth. Continue reading If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 17

If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 13

Qi’ra wasn’t very happy. She had allowed her past romantic emotions to briefly overshadow the mission at hand and that could be dangerous. Especially with someone like Tobias Beckett knowing her vulnerabilities. Even though she didn’t care for many things Dryden Vos said she believed his misgivings about Beckett. Tobias would do anything to survive and that meant she needed to watch her back.

As she walked to the cockpit where she hoped Lando’s company could potentially provide her a little comfort she heard a terrible noise overhead. As if two giant rocks were being smashed together. Continue reading If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 13

If Only She Could Tell the Truth: Part 9

Qi’ra followed Lando, her eyes narrowed inquisitively.

“And who is that supposed to be?” she asked, referencing the irate droid that was arguing passionately with a human.

Lando smiled at her. “That’s L3-37. My first mate.”

The Ten Most Awesome Women of ‘Star Wars’

When a Star Wars movie comes out one thing is inevitable; it’s time to update my Ranking series and with Solo introducing so many new and fantastic heroines to the Star Wars universe this list was destined to be upgraded. Enjoy my newest edition of The Ten Most Awesome Women of ‘Star Wars.

10. Val

Val, the no-nonsense sharpshooter.

I was honestly surprised at how temporary Val’s involvement in Solo was but her participation in the movie was very awesome indeed. I would love to see her return in either a novel or one the animated shorts from Forces of Destiny.

9. Rose Tico

Rose, a mechanic, a rebel fighter, and a history maker.

This new age of Star Wars is not only cranking out fantastically enjoyable films but it has also become one of the most diverse franchises in Hollywood with women of color frequently being added to the Star Wars roster and I couldn’t be happier.

Rose is a wonderful addition to the Star Wars universe and I can’t wait to see her return in Episode IX to go on some more magical adventures.

8. L3-37

L3-37, the first ‘Star Wars’ diva, is a droid. Lol.

Star Wars has been full of droids but it took until now for a major female droid to join the robot party and she definitely her placed her stamp on the Star Wars universe with her fierce attitude. She was one of the most no-nonsense ladies I have ever seen and really made me smile a number of times. Seeing her lead a droid rebellion was one of the coolest, funniest, and most awesome moments I have ever seen in Star Wars and only shows me that there is so much room for creativity in the Star Wars universe.
