This Is The Funniest Thing I’ve Seen All Day

So I was just checking out starwars.com to see what was new and as I scrolled down the home page I saw this two-minute long video displaying the LEGO version of The Last Jedi. Now, let me give you a brief history of my experience with legos. When I was younger I had a Wii and a few of my favorite games was LEGO The Lord of the Rings (fantastic game by the way,) LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4, and LEGO Star Wars. These games made me love the LEGO version of some of my favorite movies. Then when I got an XBOX One I also ended up getting LEGO The Hobbit and LEGO The Force Awakens, both of which I enjoyed playing immensely. If there just so happened to be a LEGO The Last Jedi I would own it on the first day, that’s how fun and hilarious these games are.

So anyway, like I said before, I saw this two-minute video of the LEGO version of The Last Jedi and I just had to watch it. Check it out:

This is literally one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It’s the entire story of the original trilogy plus The Force Awakens plus The Last Jedi all within two minutes and it’s just absurdly perfect and comedic. I love legos, I loved The Lego Movie when it came out four years ago (I actually own it,) I love seeing these characters I know so well depicted as LEGO toys, and the child narrating the short film only made it funnier.

I love hilarious stuff and you can’t go wrong with legos. I hope this made you laugh as much as it made me laugh and I thank you for reading. Have a beautiful day and May the LEGOs (hee-hee) be with you.

Zorii or Jannah: Who’s Your Favorite?

The Rise of Skywalker introduced two new characters to the franchise, a pair of awesome female characters who helped bring extra depth to Poe Dameron and Finn’s storylines in the movie.

zoriigreatpic

On one hand, you have Zorii Bliss, a fancily-clad smuggler wielding two blasters who have a checkered yet clearly romantic past with flawed yet brave Resistance Commander, Poe Dameron. Her only role in the movie is to add a little spice to Poe’s otherwise bland resume (get it, because he was a spice runner) but she still ends up managing to steal the show with her blunt awesomeness. Counting Down my 20 Favorite Trailers: #1: ‘The Force Awakens’

Yes, my favorite trailer of all time is The Force Awakens official trailer. Why, you may ask. Simple; it makes me cry. Why does it make me cry? Well, let me share with you the trailer and then I’ll get to the tear-inducing details.

Okay, first of all, I’m a Star Wars fan, as you already know, and this trailer reminds me of a time when I was the happiest I had ever been with this franchise that I cherish so deeply. So that sense of nostalgia (and slight sense of sadness considering how I feel about the franchise now) helps pull the tears from my eyes.

Secondly, the trailer alone is a story. We first meet Rey and in a few words we learn that she is a lonely scavenger who considers herself to be “no one.” Finn is a stormtrooper who has “nothing to fight for” and has defected from the First Order. And Kylo Ren is essentially a puppet who wants to live up to Darth Vader’s greatness. “I will finish what you started,” he says as a streak of red death races across the vastness of space.

Immediately we are introduced to the films’ three primary characters and after that, the rest is history. The plot of the movie is laid out, action scenes are shown, Han Solo gets some words, the Millennium Falcon flies again, Leia is seen hugging Han Solo, and by the trailer’s conclusion, as Finn prepares himself for Kylo Ren’s onslaught and the music crescendos we can hear Maz Kanata saying, “The Force. It’s calling to you. Just let in.”

Cue the tears.

I know that Avengers: Infinity War is perfection incarnate, that Logan gives us one of the best uses of a song for a trailer maybe of all time, that The Lord of the Rings teaser is magic through and through, and that the trailer for Instellar is an utter masterpiece, but when I watch this trailer it hits my emotions in ways the other trailers can’t and that is why it is my favorite trailer.

I thank you so much for following this series. I’ll be seeing the teaser for Dune ahead of TENET tomorrow (hopefully) and if it’s good as people are saying it is that’ll be another trailer to talk about for years to come.

Have a great day.

This Is The Coolest Cup Ever!

The Last Jedi wasn’t a perfect Star Wars movie by a long shot but there were some incredible moments in the movie that I really enjoyed and the Praetorian Guards were part of that enjoyment. Ever since I saw the Emperor Palpatine’s Royal Guards I have loved these red robed characters and The Last Jedi took that concept to the next level.

It looks just like the Praetorian Guards!

This cup is the most incredible Star Wars cup I have ever seen. I’ve seen stormtrooper cups, Death Star cups, Captain Phasma cups, Kylo Ren cups, etc. but this cup clearly beats them all. The Praetorian Guards are my favorite new additions to the Star Wars universe for so many reasons and this cup accentuates that.

It’s amazing from every angle too.

I obtained this cup before I watched The Last Jedi and after seeing the movie I love it even more now. I think this is going to be the only cup I use for a very long while.

Well, that’s my post for today. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day. May the Force Be With You.

Throwback Friday: ‘Children of Blood and Bone’: A Great Fantasy Novel and Yet…I’m Not a Fan

I’ve been wanting to read Children of Blood and Bone since it broke to prominence last year during the same time Black Panther roared into theaters, breaking box-office records left and right. When I went to my local library last week and saw it sitting on one of the shelves my eyes widened with excitement. I hurriedly took it off the shelf and immediately started reading before checking it out so I could finish it at home.

This morning I finally finished it and I’m sad to report that I’m disappointed.

As someone who LOVES fantasy novels (it’s what I always gravitate toward when looking for a new fiction novel to read), I was beyond excited to read this story focusing on the genre from a black woman’s perspective. While the first 150 pages gripped me with an iron grip, sucking me into a world I didn’t want to leave, it wasn’t long before I realized it was just like every other YA fiction novel I had read before it. Who’s Your Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Dad?

Star Wars is heavily wrapped around the basis of family and it’s Father’s Day! So, I’m asking you my fellow Star Wars fans, who’s your favorite Star Wars father? Here is my list of the galactic dads of the franchise.

Galen Erso

Galen Erso

Galen Erso is one of the secret heroes in the Star Wars universe as he purposely sabotaged the Death Star to eventually get blown up. He risked his life creating the diabolical plan and had to sacrifice so much to get it done. While he isn’t on the poster of Rogue One he was easily one of the film’s biggest contributors.

Darth Vader

Darth Vader just might be one of the most iconic movie fathers of all time. He may have played the part of the villain for the majority of the original trilogy but through all of those wires and that cold exterior was a heart of gold that couldn’t be denied. He helped end the reign of the Empire as he killed Palpatine and even though he died he perished doing what was right and that is why he’s such a great character.
