So, I just recently watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (a.k.a GOTG Vol. 2) and I was skeptical. I had heard a lot of reviews and not a lot of them were good. A lot of people said that it was decent but not nearly as good as the first one was. And then there was a choice few who said it was pretty entertaining. So when I watched it for the first time I didn’t know what to expect.
I had already had a bad impression because of all of the advertising for the movie. It was like everywhere I looked there was GOTG…and this was months before the movie was even supposed to come out. A lot of times when movies are advertising heavily way before the movie comes out (like Batman vs. Superman) the movie usually isn’t good. So that was already a red alert. And then the content they did show wasn’t that great looking. The first GOTG had me interested from the very teaser that long time ago at the end of 2013. This one…not so much.
So the movie started and I was just hoping it wouldn’t be as bad as Ant-Man because that was a pretty corny Marvel film. (I actually like Ant-Man nowadays which is hilarious.) And then the movie ended. And then the very next day I watched it again because there was so much going on I just had to make sure I got all of the itty-bitty details. And now I’m here, writing this post, and I hope you enjoy. Continue reading Movie Review Flashback: My Review of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’
Oh my goodness, I love Mantis. I wasn’t even very fond of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and yet I absolutely loved her character. Her sweet disposition is infectious, her naivety is refreshing, and her skill set is actually pretty cool. Yes, she may have perished (😭) but her story will…continue? *shrug*
The fact that she was given a poster for Avengers: Endgame gives me hope that she will return from the dead to help her friends fight Thanos and that is an exciting prospect. So, in preparation for Endgame, let’s look at her posters and how they have changed over the years.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
The posters for the Guardians of the Galaxy films are clearly unique and so it’s no doubt that this poster is pretty cool. The green and yellow is a beautiful color to pair with her too.
Avengers: Infinity War
Mantis is such a fascinating character and her sweetness is very apparent on this poster. Her expression isn’t sad or determined, just Mantis-ly placid. The purple glow looks good on her.
Mantis was the first on Titan to turn into dust; hence the black-and-white poster. It’s so sad. Geez.
So, these are her posters over the last two years. They’re simple but highlight her lovable personality in subtle ways.
Tomorrow the next character will be Happy Hogan. I am very interested in seeing if he even has any other posters. Lol.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day.
Marvel has introduced over two dozen fascinating and fabulous superheroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of the most memorable of these wonderful characters have been, undoubtedly, the Guardians of the Galaxy. While they are clearly a bunch of misfits they have grabbed the hearts of Marvel fans and casual moviegoers around the world with their uncanny heroism. But which of these lovable scoundrels is your favorite? That’s what I’m here to ask you on this week’s segment of Who’s Your Favorite? Here are the characters.
Groot is practically the Chewbacca of the MCU. He’s big and represents the brute strength of the Guardiab, he speaks a foreign language in the form of “I am Groot” which we, as moviegoers, can’t understand, and he’s awfully sweet and kind (at least every version of Groot except the teenage Groot.) Groot is one of the coolest, most original characters I have ever seen in a movie and that’s why he’s so awesome.

When the Guardians of the Galaxy were getting ready to make their MCU debut in 2014 I was highly skeptical about how well the movie was going to do because it was so strange. Marvel was taking us viewers to places we had never seen before and introducing us to aliens and characters as wildly different as a talking raccoon. You would think a superhero movie with a talking raccoon! would be an ultimate flop but to my great surprise it wasn’t. In fact, it’s still one of the best Marvel movies ever made as its simple storyline has become more and more enjoyable over the years. Now with the Guardians officially meeting The Avengers in Infinity War their cool points have risen a lot, as I got to see how truly incredible they really are as the Guardians of the Galaxy. The other day I watched the Guardians of the Galaxy and as I was watching the film I asked myself which Guardian did I enjoy the most? Well, that’s what I’m here to share with you and I hope you enjoy.
The one good thing about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was that it introduced Mantis to the MCU and I’m so glad she ended up becoming a Guardian. What makes the Guardians so hilariously awesome is the wackiness of its occupants. Take Mantis for example. In a word she’s weird…but that’s why she’s so great. Only in the Guardians will you see characters as unique as Mantis and that’s why I love them so much.
I am Groot. Translated: Groot is awesome. 🙂

As a woman I love costumes in movies, from Star Wars to Marvel and DC Comics to The Lord of the Rings, the heroes’ (and villains’) outfits are always a huge topic of mine whenever I’m watching a film. The clothes a character wears in a film is part of that character’s identity. It’s what makes you pick them out in a crowd and places an invisible stamp on that character’s personality. Well, with so many heroes in the MCU for the next two days I’m going to debate on which female and male heroes have the greatest style while they tackle bad guys or just trips to the next door corner store. Enjoy!
I like Wasp’s suit but it honestly isn’t as cool as I would’ve imagined. I thought the yellow would be more pronounced against the black of the suit but it’s still an interesting design. If they ever upgrade the suit in the future I want to see a brighter yellow.
10. Peggy Carter
Peggy was a military officer and yet she still found a way to look beautiful and stylish in an officers uniform with her waved hair and red lipstick to stand out amidst all of the drab looking men. But don’t let her appearance fool you. She’s just as tough as the rest of the officers surrounding her which is why she’s so awesome.
And if she wanted to be pretty she easily achieved that with this flirty yet classy red dress. Peggy was definitely much cooler than her grand-niece, Sharon Carter (sorry, Agent 13.)

There are a lot of superheroes spread across Marvel and Dc Comics and, unsurprisingly, most of them are men. There are, however, the female superheroes who help protect the world and stamp their awesomeness in a male-dominated genre. Now, just to let you know, I won’t be ranking any female characters off of the various Marvel tv shows simply because…I don’t watch them. So since that’s out of the way let me start ranking
Nebula, once villain turned hero, is undoubtedly a cool character. The fact that she’s half robot is fascinatingly different and she just simply looks cool. Her story, thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, has also made her much more important in the imminent event of facing Thanos. I read somewhere that in an early draft of the first Guardians of the Galaxy she was going to die at first. I’m so glad they changed that.
