All Hail the New Batman!

Batman, he’s a character that is rebooted at least once every decade since Michael Keaton’s portrayal of the character in 1989. And with each iteration comes the fans’ searing disapproval or groveling praise and Robert Pattinson’s take on the dark knight is making fans of the character very, very happy indeedy.

Pattinson has been beloved by pop culture nerds for a while, whether we’re talking about his role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Cedric Diggory or his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies. But over the years, he’s strayed away from the pop culture scene, proving himself to be a formidable actor in other movies. Now he’s playing the role of his life and it looks like he’s going to be quite the treat to behold. Check out the first teaser released last night for The Batman.

Gritty, dark, and so brutal, this Batman looks like he’s on a mission and you don’t want to be in his way. Matt Reeves announced that they only got 25-30% into filming so I honestly expected to see maybe twenty seconds of live-action looks at the characters…not a full-blown teaser!

The internet is roiling over this brand new look at the Batman and I am just so impressed. Plus, his new saying, “I’m vengeance” instead of “I’m Batman” was an extra cool touch.

I was already a bit excited about this movie but now I’m positively over the moon. People are already clamoring for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker to meet Pattinson’s Batman and if that did happen I think it would be one of the greatest things to ever happen in comic book movie history.

Here’s the first poster for The Batman.

Gosh, I’m ready to see this movie next year.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a marvelous day.

James McAvoy Could’ve Played The Riddler in the Upcoming Batman Movie!

There are lots of actors but there are only several actors that stick out to me among the pack as performers who have delivered some truly outstanding pieces of work.

These actors are: Tom Hanks, Christian Bale, Josh Brolin, Joaquin Phoenix, Russel Crowe, Heath Ledger, Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman. However, after the past few weeks and getting the chance to see James McAvoy’s performances in the X-Men films as well as Split and Glass, I have assembled him alongside the likes of these exceptional actors because, despite the fact that he’s only been nominated for a Golden Globe for the romantic drama Atonement, the man can act!

Watching him take on a role in Split that features a character who has twenty-three! different personalities within himself could’ve been a disaster. Instead, we get to see him shine as he impeccably switches characters on the drop of a dime just by changing the way he sits, the way his eyebrows crinkle, or the way his voice sounds. He ranges from stern and annoying as Dennis to kind and almost motherly as Patricia and then really goofy and naive as nine-year-old Hedwig and then absolutely terrifying as his horrific alter-ego, The Beast. And this happens all while retaining the idea that Kevin, the person the twenty-three personalities are trying to protect, lies deep within.

Yesterday, I was watching ScreenRant (click the link to discover James McAvoy’s 10 Best Movies According to IMDb) on Youtube and I learned that one of the comic book characters McAvoy wanted to play was The Riddler in the upcoming Batman movie. Instead, the role would go to this guy. Continue reading James McAvoy Could’ve Played The Riddler in the Upcoming Batman Movie!

Zoe Kravitz Will Play Catwoman in ‘The Batman’

In case you forgot (or didn’t know) Zoe Kravitz, known for her roles in films and television series like Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Big Little Lies, will join Matt Reeves’ take on the iconic superhero, Batman, in 2021’s The Batman as Catwoman. Yes, Catwoman.

Fantastic actresses like Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway have brought this character to life in dazzling ways. In fact, Catwoman is one of my favorite comic book characters because of their remarkable portrayals of this anti-hero.

I can’t wait to see how Zoe Kravitz takes this character into her own and creates her own iconic rendition of the feline jewel thief.

Have You Seen the New Batman?

Batman, he’s one of the most prolific superheroes in the world. There have been several different actors to portray the character. The two most beloved rendition of the dark knight has been under Michael Keaton and Christian Bale. No other actors have come close to their brilliance in the role. However, a new sheriff has come to town and our first look at him has arrived.

It came via test footage that Matt Reeves released to the public and sent plenty of DC Comics fan into understandable hysterics. Robert Pattinson, known for his roles in Harry Potter and the Twilight movies, is the new man behind the mask and it looks like he has a chance to be pretty cool.

Of course, we haven’t heard him speak yet and we haven’t seen him in action, but this is…promising…I guess. We’ll see.

I’ll be sure to share more in the coming months as more news surrounding The Batman arrives.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

Paul Dano Is Cast as The Riddler in ‘The Batman’

The Batman is well underway and with Zoe Kravitz cast as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Batman on Tuesday the casting confirmations have continued.

Wednesday, Golden-Globe nominated actor Paul Dano, known for his roles in Little Miss Sunshine and 12 Years a Slave, was revealed to be cast as Edward Nashton/The Riddler in The Batman.

To be honest, I’m not too thrilled about the casting. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve only seen him in one movie, that being Cowboys vs. Aliens, so I can’t really judge his casting off of his acting skills but I’m judging off of visual preference and I feel his face looks too soft for the role.

One of DC Comics’ biggest weaknesses has been the casting for the villains. Whether we’re talking about Jared Leto’s horrendous representation of The Joker, Jesse Eisenburg’s annoying rendition of Lex Luthor or even Mark Strong’s somewhat exacerbating performance as Dr. Sivana in Shazam! the franchise has not hit any major winners in the villain department and it seems that trend may continue.

I was excited about Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne/Batman and I loved Zoe Kravitz’s casting as Catwoman but Paul Dano as The Riddler…I’ll have to wait and see.

Who’s next to join the party? I’m very interested in finding out.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a remarkable day.
