Is Marvel’s New Lineup of Characters Some Of the Best in the MCU?

For thirteen years now, the MCU has been one of the most incredible franchises. It took actors like the three Chrisses, Paul Rudd and Chadwick Boseman, Tom Hiddleston and Tom Holland, and so many others and turned them into superstars not just because they were in great movies but because Sarah Halley Finn knew they would be PERFECT for the roles they would play.

After Stan Lee’s death, I was skeptical for the future of Marvel Studios. Would the franchise still be great or would it lose its steam? I guess I underestimated just how brilliant Kevin Feige and the rest of the team has been through the years because the latest slate of characters and the actors that play them have been incredible.

Let’s just dive into the brand new characters and actors we have and will get to meet this year in the MCU.

WandaVision

How And When WandaVision's Agatha Harkness First Discovered Scarlet Witch's Powers, According To The Director - CINEMABLEND

The first piece of MCU content since Spider-Man: Far from Home, WandaVision was a risky return to the franchise we know and love so much but boy did it pay off. Not only was it a fantastic series with plenty of twists and turns and a very compelling story but it introduced us to two new powerful female characters that left quite the impression.

Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness stole the show every time she was onscreen. At times she was just straight down hilarious and at other times I would stare at the screen in awe because she did, in fact, feel like a perfect witch. She was the perfect foil to Wanda’s depression and I hope she returns in the future.

And then there was Teyonah Parris’s debut as Monica Rambeau. Do I think her acting skills need a little more refining? Yes I do, but I cannot deny my excitement to see her officially become one of the most powerful superheroes in the universe in The Marvels and to see her don whatever suit the incredible costume designers have created for her.

I also think she’s going to be able to deliver some powerful scenes opposite Brie Larson that could definitely have the potential to yank on my heart strings. She’s going to be a great fit with The Avengers.

Ranking the Characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Part 1

The MCU is getting bigger and bigger, meaning more and more characters are being introduced to this massive franchise. After Black Widow, and considering that there’s a good chance we won’t be getting any new characters until Hawkeye later this year, I thought this would be as good a time as any to update my ranking.

(This ranking will include mostly heroes but will also include my favorite villains, or villains who will surely show up again in the future as potential antiheroes.)

Enjoy!

57. Ghost

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fun film but its weakest element, undoubtedly, is its villain. Played by Hannah John-Kamen, Ghost is a character who’s kind of interesting but ultimately pretty lame. But I am intrigued to see her story continue in the future and how she could potentially be utilized in a potential Thunderbolts movie.

56. Quicksilver

Quicksilver was cool…in the X-Men movies. In Marvel Studios, he’s one of the more forgettable characters.

‘WandaVision’: An Analysis of ‘Breaking the Fourth Wall’

I was honestly worried that the seventh episode of the series was going to leave me underwhelmed and wishing for more but honestly, it was perfect. It offered just enough tantalizing tidbits to leave me satisfied and it left us with a cliffhanger that’s going to be a gas!

(You see what I did there?)

But anyway, I’m here to talk about the episode, its most fascinating moment, and what we could expect with these last two episodes. Enjoy!

‘WandaVision’: My Analysis of ‘Now in Color’

WandaVision is three episodes in and yeah, it’s just as spectacularly weird and entertaining as I imagined it would be. The last two episodes gradually revealed to us that everything in Westview is not as it seems but this third episode has finally pushed us a little over the edge into the true, and maybe even sinister, nature of this series.

The first thing I would like to point out in this episode is Vision.

Throwback Friday: Here are 5 Characters I Hope Will Be in Phase 4 of the MCU

On June 15 of this year, I wrote a post sharing the five superheroes I wanted to see in Phase 4 of the MCU. Here’s a look back at my choices and which ones actually ended up correct, which is amazing! Enjoy!

Monica Rambeau

Monica Rambeau’s debut was in Captain Marvel. Like Cassie Lang in the Ant-Man films, she was inspired by her superhero co-parent, in this case, it would be Carol Danvers, and she wanted to help fight the bad guys.

The events of Avengers: Endgame, which mostly takes place in the year 2023, is twenty-eight years after Captain Marvel. That means Monica Rambeau, by Avengers: Endgame is in her late thirties’. If Marvel follows her story like in the comics then that means she’s surely a superhero by that time. Maybe in a future film, we’ll get to see Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau team up in the ultimate heroine-duo as two flying bolts of pure power. Wow. Now that’s a thought.

Here are 5 Characters I Hope Will Be in Phase 4 of the MCU

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming. With Spider-Man: Far from Home releasing in theaters worldwide in a few weeks it’s impossible not to think about the future and the incredible new characters we can expect to see. While there are many heroes that are still alive and kicking heading into Phase 4 there are some that may not be a part of The Avengers right now but have already been planted in the MCU. And today I’m going to list five heroes that I’m really anxious to see join the ranks of heroes in the future. Enjoy!
