‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Gets Its First Trailer

There have been many Terminator movies (only two good ones; the first two) and every few years we get another attempt at recreating the same magic The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day seemed to find so effortlessly.

Well, this November, producer James Cameron is taking a crack at the Terminator franchise with yet another installment; Terminator: Dark Fate. Here’s the first trailer.

I have to admit, I kind of really liked this trailer. With every film comes a new, smarter Terminator but the twist this time, the good Terminator is a woman. How awesome is that?

This film’s storyline may not be that great but one thing I am confident about; it’s going to have some good action scenes for sure. And seeing Linda Hamilton returning to kick butt in this trailer is garnering two thumbs up from me.

I can’t wait to see more.

What do you think about the trailer? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day.

‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Gets Its First Trailer

I’m sure you saw the title of this post and said, “What?! Sonic the Hedgehog has a movie?!” Yes, he’s got a movie that’s coming this November and the first trailer just dropped. And, to be honest, it’s not that bad. Here it is.

First off, love the song choice for the trailer. Secondly, I am LOVING the casting. Jim Carrey as the iconic Dr. Ivo Robotnik is amazing. He’s one of those characters that you recognize instantly and seeing him in this trailer put a massive smile on my face.

Will this movie be good? Probably not. But it definitely looks like a fun film to watch this fall.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

‘Bumblebee’ Is a Perfect Family Movie

When I first heard that there was going to be a Bumblebee spinoff movie set in the 80s’ I wasn’t thrilled of the idea. The last Transformers movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, was pretty atrocious. So atrocious in fact that I can’t even watch the movie even though I have tried to enjoy it because I loved Age of Extinction so much. So, after how terrible The Last Knight was, I definitely wasn’t ready to see a Transformers movie anytime soon but after hearing that Bumblebee was actually considered a legitimate success I was super excited to see this Transformers spinoff. And it truly deserves all the praise it can get.

Up until Bumblebee, the Transformers franchise has valued explosions and action over substance and at the end of the day, people want to come away from a film feeling that they’ve watched a good movie rather than two-plus hours of destructive hodgepodge that’ll look cool in IMAX. (I happen to be a fan of awesome eye-popping action but that’s just me.) Bumblebee detracted from that model, however, and focused highly on telling a solid story that came from the heart.

Learning Bumblebee’s origin story was kind of amazing and I enjoyed nearly every second of the film. His relationship with Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) was beautiful and very well-written. The movie took its time to set up event after event and nothing happened that wasn’t expected. The story was easily predictable but in a good way.

I found myself trying to hold back tears on a number of occasions and by the end of the movie I suddenly felt even more interested in Bumblebee. Now I want to watch Age of Extinction for no particular reason other than to see Bumblebee because now I feel I know his character even more and I love it.

My Reaction to ‘Bumblebee’

I just finished watching Bumblebee and am getting ready to see Aquaman but I figured while I have this break I might as well share with you all my near-live reaction to the film.

Bumblebee is a good movie through and through. Unlike every Transformers movie before the story is clear, concise, and very easy to follow. None of the characters are annoying and the themes are very family friendly which is nice to see, considering that children like the Transformers just as much as adults.

I found the movie to be really fun and cute. There were some truly heartfelt moments that brought a tear (actually tears) to my eyes and when a movie can make me cry that means it’s touched my heart in one capacity or another.

Tomorrow I’ll share my full spoiler-free review and give you my entire verdict on the film but until then, yeah, it’s a solid movie that deserves all the praise. And it is easily the best film in the franchise so far.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. In a few hours, I will share with you my reaction to Aquaman. See you then! 🙂

‘A Quiet Place’ Is The Best Sci-Fi Movie I’ve Seen In Years

When I saw the trailer for A Quiet Place I immediately knew I wanted to see this movie. I’m not a fan of scary movies in the slightest. I can barely watch leastwise hear The Exorcist and I’ve just recently gotten the guts to watch The Shining all the way through. Scary movies are my allergy but this film felt like something I had to see. I’ve never seen a movie where the premise is that you have to stay completely silent to avoid being found by a mysterious something or else you will perish. I knew this film was going to be scary but the premise sounded too original and cool not to watch. I ended up missing the opportunity to see it in the movie theaters but last night I finally got to see it at home and it was surprisingly better than I expected.

A Quiet Place is about a family who in a post-apocalyptic world where any sound can get them killed are just trying to survive. The movie starts a little slow but soon establishes the seriousness of the situation the family is going through in a legitimately horrifying fashion. The story then showcases the family living a somewhat ordinary life despite their obvious noise-making hindrance but when life hits with a bang things go awry real fast.

What impressed me the most about this film is its realistic situations. This movie could’ve easily turned south real fast by having the family participate in wild escapades that would’ve turned the film into a typical PG-13 action film where the protagonists are supposedly invincible (like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.) The writers for A Quiet Place, however, kept the suspense up and never let the movie get corny in any way. Let me give you an example. SPOILERS AHEAD!
