What’s Your Favorite Leia Moment?

It’s another Sunday and that means it’s time to visit another segment of Who’s Your Favorite? Today, however, is rather special for Star Wars fans around the world because it is the late-great Carrie Fisher’s birthday (she would’ve been 62.) So, to honor the woman who has brought so many smiles to people across the globe, she is the subject of today’s Who’s Your Favorite?

Now, Leia has countless memorable moments during her time in this franchise but I’m going to take at least one exciting moment from each film that she’s graced for this list. Enjoy!

1. A Rogue One Surprise

leiahope1

Rogue One brought some fantastic surprises near the end of the film as it swiftly led into A New Hope‘s story and one of those shocking reveals was CGI Leia. Not only was it brilliant but it proved that technology could be used in truly exciting ways for future Star Wars films.

Ranking the ‘Star Wars’ Books That I’ve Read; from Worst to Best

Throughout my years as a Star Wars fan I had only watched the movies and had never delved into the fictional book realm of the franchise…until recently. In the past year I have read several incredible Star Wars novels, all of which belong to the new canon created after Disney bought the franchise, and while some were slightly boring others were downright fantastic and helped expand my mind to the overall story of these films. So, I’m here to tell you which books I thought were just okay and which novels excelled my wildest expectations. Enjoy!

The Force Awakens

While I absolutely love The Force Awakens the novel is surprisingly disappointing. The story is kind of boring and there isn’t anything exactly different from the novel that wasn’t in the movie. Of course it’s Star Wars and it’s always fun to read anything that’s involved with Star Wars but this definitely isn’t a book to own.

AfterMath

The Aftermath Trilogy is a compelling series of books that tell the story of, well, the aftermath following the Battle of Endor. We get new characters to follow, some original faces here and there (one of them being Wedge which was really awesome) and some fantastic storylines. But as cool as the story sounds the trilogy’s first installment is a bit of a bore compared to its next two installments and that’s why I have it ranked next to last on this list. It is, however, a good book to read.

Resistance Reborn

In the buildup to The Rise of Skywalker, the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, I was as excited as ever. My mother surprised me with this novel as a gift last November ahead of December’s The Rise of Skywalker release and when I read it I was ultimately underwhelmed. (My reaction was the same with the film.)

I recently reread it and I did enjoy it more than I did the first time but overall, this story could’ve been better.

A New Dawn

This book follows the story of two Star Wars: Rebels characters, Kanan Jarrus, a rascally type who was once a padawan before Order 66, and Hera Syndulla, a secret rebellion operative trying to stop the Empire’s reign. They cross paths on a planet overrun by the Empire and together they try to free the planet from the tyrannical organization’s reign. This is a fantastic novel full of enticing action, great character interplay, and a perfect introduction to these prominent characters in the Star Wars universe. If you’re a fan of Star Wars: Rebels this book is a must-have.

The Six Best Star Wars Hairstyles

(This is a post I forgot I wrote years ago so…I wanted to reshare it with you. Enjoy!)

I love Star Wars for so many reasons. I love the stories, I love the action, I love the environment, and I absolutely love the characters. And of course, each character has their own special style and part of that style is their hair. So, on that note, here are my six favorite Star Wars hairstyles.

6. Qui-Gon Jin

Qui-Gon is cool for so many different reasons and one of those reasons is his impeccable hairstyle. First of all, it’s totally a look that I would imagine a Jedi Master having. It’s simple yet elegant in a way, it has this kind of Samurai warrior vibe which is totally sensible considering that George Lucas’s inspiration for the Jedi was from Samurai, and it perfectly defines Qui-Gon. He’s also the only character in Star Wars, so far, with a hairstyle like this. Now I think Rey is going to go a little Qui-Gon on everyone with her new look but that’s a whole other topic.

However, at the moment Qui-Gon Jin has the coolest hairstyle as a Jedi so far.

What’s Your Favorite Princess Leia Look?

Star Wars. It’s a story that resides in a galaxy far, far away, where powerful men and women dressed in iconic robes and wielding different colored laser swords have mysterious powers and follow their tales of destiny while fighting an endless battle between good and evil. There’s a lot to this incredible story that has spanned decades and wowed generations of fans and one of the elements to this franchise that is so much fun to explore is the characters’ individual styles.

Each and every character has a specific style that is created with such fine detail and so for the next couple of weeks, my Who’s Your Favorite? series will be brought to you every day and targeting a specific character and their overall style through their time in the franchise. And who better to start this series than with one of the most iconically dressed fictional characters, Princess Leia?
