The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

Since Netflix made a deal with Rian Johnson and bought his two Knives Out sequels yesterday for roughly $450 million I thought it would be perfect timing to revisit my dream cast for the sequel. Enjoy!

Scarlet Johansson

Scarlett Johansson in The Black Dahlia (2006)

Scarlet Johansson has become a world-renown actress with her various roles on the big screen, namely her stepping into the limelight as Black Widow for over a decade. I can imagine her playing a beautiful femme fatale that leaves you constantly wondering if she’s the culprit behind the murder. Continue reading The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

Counting Down my 20 Favorite Trailers: #17-‘The Last Jedi’

The Force Awakens was an amazing movie so its sequel was awaited with breathtaking anticipation. When this trailer came out I remember I would sit around and, having memorized it, would play it in my head. Check it out.

I was ecstatic, over the moon, beside myself, all of the feelings one can have that are synonymous with sheer joy is how I felt after watching this teaser. Nowadays, it doesn’t carry the same magic which is why I have it so low on my list but it still invokes a smile on my face.

Lucky #16 is coming up next. (Wow, so far, all of these trailers have been Disney-related. Lol.)

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. May the Force be with you.

What’s Your Favorite Sequel Trilogy Teaser Poster?

I love movie posters! Teaser posters, official posters, they are all very, very fascinating. Sometimes posters can be a bit underwhelming but overall they provide the vibe for a movie long before you’ve seen the story. Here’s a look at the three teaser posters for The Force AwakensThe Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Enjoy!

The Force Awakens

This teaser poster is very simple and to the point. These four characters are the main characters of this new trilogy, the illustrated effect gives it an original trilogy feel, and there is a clear distinction between the dark and the light, with Rey unexpectedly standing in the middle. Fascinating. Continue reading What’s Your Favorite Sequel Trilogy Teaser Poster?

‘The Last Jedi’ Is a Beautiful Movie!

Star Wars is a franchise full of films that evoke different emotions and The Last Jedi is a testament to that. Watching it again yesterday for the umpteenth time I was overwhelmed, yet again, by how beautiful the cinematography of this film is.

There’s the intense darkness to appeal to the dark side of the Force. Continue reading ‘The Last Jedi’ Is a Beautiful Movie!

Throwback Friday: ‘Knives Out’ Gives a Voice to the Voiceless

Why did Knives Out get nominated for an Oscar? It clearly wasn’t a film unlike any other I’ve ever seen. It was a classic whodunnit movie that has twists and turns, leaving you to watch the story unfold with knit eyebrows and rapt attention just for the film to conclude with a shocking reveal that you probably won’t see coming.

(Unfortunately, the culprit of the crime was spoiled to me by a tweet I saw on Twitter.)

Do not worry. I will not spoil the identity of the culprit. But I will spoil a specific aspect of the film that would, in fact, garner the film its Oscar nomination. And that is the poignant plot that wraps around a foreign worker who works for a wealthy white family. Ecuadorian-American woman, Marta Cabrera takes care of the head of the household, an elderly man named Harlan Thrombey, played by Oscar-winning actor Christopher Plummer. He dies tragically and his family hungrily await the result of his will. Continue reading Throwback Friday: ‘Knives Out’ Gives a Voice to the Voiceless

The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

While Knives Out isn’t one of the best movies I’ve seen it was enjoyable and has a truly riveting screenplay that I have had the luxury of reading every now and then. After watching the movie and learning that there would be a sequel I began to think of the cast and who would make the ultimate ensemble for the next film. So, I decided to share with you my idea of a perfect cast for Knives Out 2. Enjoy.
