‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 6

Black Widow has gone from being a sidekick Avenger like Hawkeye to becoming an integral part of this story in her own right. We will eventually get to see her take charge in her standalone film featuring but for now, we must analyze her story that is currently available to us.

Avengers: Endgame shocked the world when we were forced to watch Black Widow sacrifice herself for the Soul Stone and while some were peeved by this decision for the writers and directors to kill off the only female Original Avenger it was actually perfect for her storyline, or her redemptive arc, which this series is focusing on. So, with no further delay, let’s look at her beautiful story of redemption. Enjoy! Continue reading ‘Avengers: Endgame’: A Hero’s Redemption Part 6

Throwback Friday: Black Widow Is Here To Stay…Just Not in the Way, We Think

Scarlet Johansson will star as Black Widow one more time in the upcoming Black Widow standalone film this fall. However, there are already rumors that, depending on the film’s success, there may be a Black Widow sequel. But how can there be a Black Widow sequel without Scarlet Johansson? Very simple. The Black Widow movie is setting up another story of a new hero. Her name is Yelena Belova.

In the comics, Yelena Belova is chosen at the age of fifteen to become the new Black Widow after Natasha Romanoff’s allegiance to Russia becomes non-existent.

Florence Pugh will play Yelena Belova in Black Widow whose story will be fleshed out in this newest addition to the MCU.

Her relationship with Natasha Romanoff’s character is described as a sisterly-rivalry. I am very confident in the idea that Black Widow will conclude with Natasha handing over the metaphoric baton of the title of Black Widow to Yelena Belova and she, like Natasha Romanoff, will have to prove her loyalty to the world as a good guy in a future Black Widow sequel.

In fact, this could be the secret Black Widow trilogy we have always wanted except with Florence Pugh at the helm in the next two outings. How cool would that be?

With Avengers: Endgame bringing about the end of an era, it seems that the creative minds behind the franchise are looking to either move on to new characters or reboot other characters. It’s why Falcon will become the new Captain America, Spider-Man has become the new Iron Man of sorts, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will become the new Thor, She-Hulk will replace The Hulk, Kate Bishop will become the new Hawkeye, and Yelena Belova will be the new Black Widow. Even James Gunn has confirmed that beyond Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 we will see a new Guardians team in the MCU.

Things are changing…fast and I’m excited about the ride.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

While Knives Out isn’t one of the best movies I’ve seen it was enjoyable and has a truly riveting screenplay that I have had the luxury of reading every now and then. After watching the movie and learning that there would be a sequel I began to think of the cast and who would make the ultimate ensemble for the next film. So, I decided to share with you my idea of a perfect cast for Knives Out 2. Enjoy.

Scarlet Johansson

Scarlett Johansson in The Black Dahlia (2006)

Scarlet Johansson has become a world-renown actress with her various roles on the big screen, namely her stepping into the limelight as Black Widow for the still-enduring span of ten years. I can imagine her playing a beautiful femme fatale that leaves you constantly wondering if she’s the culprit behind the murder. Continue reading The Dream Cast of the ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

Throwback Friday: Was Black Widow Treated Fairly in ‘Avengers: Endgame’?

Avengers: Endgame marks the end of an era. Heroes that we have fallen in love with and have grown invested in are moving to new horizons. Some have died, some have survived, some have evolved into greater versions of themselves, but every character has found a certain conclusion in this Infinity Saga finale. That leads me to Black Widow.

Since the beginning, Black Widow has been an important character. She has had her various moments to shine and through the films, we’ve got to learn more and more about her backstory.

We learned that she grew up in the Red Room to be trained as an assassin. We learned, in The Avengers, that she had a debt to her good friend Hawkeye for saving her life. We also discovered as she talked to Loki, that she wanted to right the wrongs of her past.

The Three Best Things About the New ‘Black Widow’ Trailer

Black Widow is the first film to grace Phase Four and boy did that final trailer make it as amazing as I had hoped it would be. This trailer is full! of delightful moments and I am here to share my three favorite things from the trailer.

1. Natasha and Yelena’s Kinship

Natasha Romanoff has expressed the secrecy of her past many times in the MCU. To Clint Barton in The Avengers, to Steve Rogers in The Winter Soldier and Endgame, to Bruce Banner in Avengers: Age of Ultron. We have seen miniscule sections of her true story but now we get the full picture.

We now know that she once had a family and a younger sister, by blood, I’m not sure, in Yelena. This dynamic of her and Natasha being sisters who have grown up in the Red Room seems like something truly special and will only add to Black Widow’s involvement in Infinity War and Endgame following this film.
