Have You Seen ‘One Strange Rock’?

Disney+ has a lot and surprisingly, my favorite category on the streaming service is National Geographic. That’s where I discovered the ten-episode documentary series detailing the incredible and sometimes otherworldly through the observation of eight fascinating and inspiring astronauts. The series, narrated by Will Smith, is one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, delivering a fantastic tale of Earth that has made me appreciate this strange rock I live on even more.

And even though it’s very clear that down here we deal with the woes of the world it’s nice to, for nearly an hour, escape to space (via One Strange Rock) where you can see the world with a space-station view that is utterly breathtaking by every standard.

If you have Disney+, I implore you, during this forced staycation that is transpiring all over the world, to check this series out. It is beyond informative, each episode is absolutely riveting in a different way, and most of all, it’s a beautiful show.

You get to see areas of the world you didn’t even know existed, you get to travel through remote locations on all seven continents, and you get to discover things that will most likely stick with you for the rest of your life.

I’ve watched a lot of nature films and series but this undoubtedly has to the best one I’ve seen so far.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

My Introduction to the ‘ALIEN’ Franchise

A couple of years ago ALIEN: Covenant entered theaters and because of this I became very curious about the movie that started this frightening franchise. Now my first encounter with the horrific specimen wasn’t in the form of the movie. It instead was because of a game.

Several years ago I got Mortal Combat X for my wonderful XBOX One. Through the months the game introduced new characters and one of them happened to be Alien. When I saw this terrifying creature I was excited. It was a new character to play on the fighting game and I am proud to say I am very good at him. I had no idea I was playing a character that inspired a generation of filmmakers to try and recreate the same sense of horror in science fiction, whether that be in a movie or a video game. When I found out Alien was a movie character I was definitely intrigued but I wasn’t completely interested in watching the film. Then I saw this new ALIEN flick coming out that May and my curiosity began to boil. Continue reading My Introduction to the ‘ALIEN’ Franchise

My Ten Favorite Planets in ‘Star Wars’: The Updated Version

One of my favorite aspects of Star Wars are the locations. Whenever there’s a new planet I’m always excited to see what it’ll look like, such as the new planets in The Last Jedi, Crait and Cantonica. Throughout the Star Wars films, there have been many, many planets that I have found are absolutely incredible. So, on that note, here are my favorite planets.

10. Crait

Crait

Crait is one of the most fascinating new worlds with its salty white exterior, the deep red interior, and the vast cliffs that hold the rebel base. It’s a very interesting planet and it’s undoubtedly one of the most original planets I’ve seen in quite a while.

The Ten Coolest Vehicles in ‘Star Wars’

So last year I wrote a post highlighting the coolest vehicles in Star Wars but after The Last Jedi it’s time to condense that list and add some new ships to the fray because one thing The Last Jedi definitely had were some amazing vehicles. I’m beyond excited to share with you my new list and I hope you enjoy. 🙂

10. Naboo Royal Cruiser

This is my favorite of the extremely elegant Naboo ships Ms. Amidala had throughout the prequels because it’s just so downright pretty. The beginning of Attack of the Clones has one of my favorite beginnings of all of the Star Wars films mainly because of this ship. Its four motors, the way it descends into the white clouds, it’s simply a gorgeous opening to the movie. Too bad the actual movie wasn’t that great.

9. Dreadnaught

One of the reasons why The Last Jedi is such a fantastic movie is because of the beginning. The movie literally opened with a space battle, a rather epic one at that, and in the middle of this exciting conflict was the Dreadnaught, a massive Star Destroyer with a pair of giant turbo laser guns bent on obliterating anything and everything. This is such an incredible ship and even though it only appeared in the movie briefly it definitely was cool enough to get on this list.

10. Mustafar

Mustafar is one of the most original locations in Star Wars. The fact that it’s a moon that consists of only lava and volcanic rock makes this, undoubtedly, one of the coolest planets in Star Wars. And thanks to Rogue One, we now know that Darth Vader built his castle on the fiery world. That is a very awesome fact.
