Who’s Your Favorite Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters for one simple reason; he’s awesome. He wowed fans when he was introduced as the Star Wars version of the Wizard Merlin in A New Hope. And he was easily the coolest character in the often harangued prequel trilogy. So, on this week’s segment of Who’s Your Favorite I’m tackling one of the greatest Jedi that has ever lived; Obi-Wan Kenobi. Enjoy!

Obi-Wan Kenobi might’ve died in A New Hope but he lived on in ghost form throughout the classic trilogy, randomly delivering Luke wisdom and being awesome. One of my favorite scenes in The Empire Strikes Back is when Obi-Wan Kenobi visits Luke in Hoth. It’s the first time we see Obi-Wan in physical ghost form and it’s always fascinated me seeing him standing in the snowy gloom telling Luke to go to the Dagobah system. Old Obi-Wan is awesome.

What’s Your Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy?

Over the last four decades, we have been given three different Star Wars trilogies. Each trilogy has had its outstanding moments and decisions (or characters) that we’re not particularly fond of but no one can deny the beauty of this story that has inspired and brought together generations of fans.

So, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I wanted this to be the topic. Enjoy!

The Prequel Trilogy

Before Luke Skywalker, before the Empire and Darth Vader, the Cloud City and the magical world of the forest moon of Endor, there was the prequel trilogy; a story of Anakin Skywalker, the rise of Emperor Palpatine, and the horrifying fall of the Jedi.

There are love and darkness, politics and deception, epic lightsaber duels and Force battles, but most importantly, there’s a story that not many trilogies are able to tell; a hero’s descent into villainy. Continue reading What’s Your Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy?

These Shorts for ‘Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures’ Are Epic!

Yesterday I wrote a post announcing the arrival of Star Wars‘ next animated project, a series of shorts available to watch on both StarWarsKids.com and the Star Wars Youtube Channel. After watching the trailer I was more than excited and after seeing the shorts today I am through the roof with Star Wars nostalgia and happiness. So, with no further delay, let me tell you about these shorts and how I’d rank them.

6. Luke Skywalker-The Journey Begins

This may be my least favorite of the shorts but that doesn’t mean it’s not epic. I honestly was a bit surprised at short these shorts are but hey, they’re awesome, so it doesn’t matter. Grade: B+

5. R2-D2-A Loyal Droid

This is by no means an unentertaining animated short because it was phenomenal. It took one of the earliest yet greatest moments in A New Hope and spruced it up a bit to make a compelling 1 minute long short that had me utterly riveted. Grade: A-

My Fun Weekly Twitter Poll Has Gone Live!

Last week on Twitter I tweeted a poll focusing on Rey and which movie she was best in. 116 people voted and the results were unbelievably close, as 51% of voters said they liked her better in The Force Awakens compared to The Last Jedi‘s 49%. Now a week has passed and this time I’m including all of you in the conversation.

This week’s topic focuses on the Original Trilogy characters. Here’s the tweet.

Become a part of the conversation. Share your voice and let everyone know who your favorite Original Trilogy character is. Even though I can’t vote (because I made the poll) I will say, my favorite character is definitely Luke for all of the above reasons. He’s just too cool not to vote for.

I thank you for reading and potentially participating in the poll and I hope you have a fabulous day. May the Force be with you.

My Three Favorite Trilogies

I love movies. I’ve loved movies ever since I was a child. And I love movie franchises. Some of my favorite films are from some awesome movie franchises; Harry PotterStar Wars, Marvel, Jurassic Park, etc. But there’s also something particularly exciting about a movie trilogy and how it tells a cohesive and thrilling story over he course of three films. Most trilogies have maybe one standout film and then the following movies are somewhat horrendous but there are those rare trilogies that present three films that are equally and uniquely incredible. So, here are my three favorite trilogies.

3. The Dark Knight Trilogy

Before and since The Dark Knight Trilogy there really hasn’t been a superhero film, let alone films, that captured the same dark essence as these movies did. Christopher Nolan’s genius directorial vision turned these films into fantastic displays of movie making with complex stories that really honed in on the darker side of the caped crusader we’ve grown to learn as Batman.

Each film told a solid yet riveting story that focused on a different level of difficulty in Batman’s life. The first movie focused on Bruce Wayne’s evolution into Batman and what it meant to be a hero. The second movie focused on the darker version of what being a hero truly meant and the hardships one must undergo as a beloved figure in Gotham. And the final movie simply focused on Batman’s final step into fully becoming the hero that Gotham deserved, needed, and would always appreciate.

These movies are super awesome and I wish this darker style of superhero storytelling could’ve filtered into the current DCEU films.
