Who’s Your Favorite Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most beloved Star Wars characters for one simple reason; he’s awesome. He wowed fans when he was introduced as the Star Wars version of the Wizard Merlin in A New Hope. And he was easily the coolest character in the often harangued prequel trilogy. So, on this week’s segment of Who’s Your Favorite I’m tackling one of the greatest Jedi that has ever lived; Obi-Wan Kenobi. Enjoy!

Classic Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi might’ve died in A New Hope but he lived on in ghost form throughout the classic trilogy, randomly delivering Luke wisdom and being awesome. One of my favorite scenes in The Empire Strikes Back is when Obi-Wan Kenobi visits Luke in Hoth. It’s the first time we see Obi-Wan in physical ghost form and it’s always fascinated me seeing him standing in the snowy gloom telling Luke to go to the Dagobah system. Old Obi-Wan is awesome.

What’s Your Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy?

Over the last four decades, we have been given three different Star Wars trilogies. Each trilogy has had its outstanding moments and decisions (or characters) that we’re not particularly fond of but no one can deny the beauty of this story that has inspired and brought together generations of fans.

So, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I wanted this to be the topic. Enjoy!

The Prequel Trilogy

Before Luke Skywalker, before the Empire and Darth Vader, the Cloud City and the magical world of the forest moon of Endor, there was the prequel trilogy; a story of Anakin Skywalker, the rise of Emperor Palpatine, and the horrifying fall of the Jedi.

There are love and darkness, politics and deception, epic lightsaber duels and Force battles, but most importantly, there’s a story that not many trilogies are able to tell; a hero’s descent into villainy. Continue reading What’s Your Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy?

Throwback Friday: I Think the ‘Star Wars’ Prequel Trilogy Got Some of its Ideas From ‘The Fifth Element’

For the first time, I recently watched The Fifth Element which came out in 1997. I’ve been hearing about this movie for years but it wasn’t until yesterday that I actually sat down and watched the film. As I was watching the movie I was flabbergasted by its strangely creative content and the vision that Luc Besson had concocted for this film. I almost fell asleep at the beginning of the movie because I thought it was kind of boring but I managed to stay up and watch the entire film from beginning to end.

While the overall movie clearly wasn’t the best science-fiction film I’d ever seen I still somewhat enjoyed it. But, as I’d say, about thirty minutes into the movie one of the main characters, a perfect being sent to protect Earth named Leeloo was brought to life. When she found herself in containment she, of course, ran away. It’s at this moment where my mind was blown in utter shock.

It’s Eights Days Away from ‘The Rise of Skywalker’!

It’s eight days away from The Rise of Skywalker, just a little over a week. It’s an exhilarating thought. Today we get to celebrate this day by looking at some of the best posters from Revenge of the Sith. Enjoy!

This feels like a precursor to The Clone Wars, which featured the Clone Troopers very heavily. Continue reading It’s Eights Days Away from ‘The Rise of Skywalker’!

Who’s Your Favorite Major Prequel Trilogy Character?

The Skywalker Saga is coming to a close this December and while our brains may be currently preoccupied with such delights such as The MandalorianStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and so forth, we can’t forget another very important aspect to the story, which is, of course, the prequel trilogy. The Prequel Trilogy has delivered plenty of characters, some fascinating, others annoying, but all of which are rather memorable. For this week’s Who’s Your Favorite? I figured giving a bit of love to the PT characters was in order. Enjoy!

Mace Windu

The only Force-wielder to have a purple lightsaber in Star Wars, Mace Windu stands out as clearly one of the coolest and most memorable characters of the Prequel Trilogy.

While Jar Jar Binks fans are far and few there’s no denying the impact this character has had on the franchise. Continue reading Who’s Your Favorite Major Prequel Trilogy Character?
